What a fabulous day. SBA you were fantastic

[Martin180]

Happy to eat humble pie tonight

I thought it looked a white flag selection but retrospectively it was what we used to get from Robins , a side that didn’t look quite right but produced a great performance

[Ccfcisparks]

Perhaps now you'll shut the fuck up with your endless criticism of the quality of the squad and moronic negative comparisons with Hull.

Living rent free in that calcified old brain of yours you speng

[Shannerz]

sure he lacks some quality , but the bloke has put a shift in today any player would be proud of , left it all out there

He showed exactly why Lampard loves him, and also why he can be so frustrating.

Often he'd do the first thing perfectly, either intercepting a pass and breaking, or wriggling away from a defender and getting into space, but then making absolutely the wrong decision on the second action, and end up giving the ball away when there was the chance to create something genuinely dangerous.

His work-rate was prodigious, though, and he was exactly what we needed today.

[HadjiChippo]

I think the biggest thing from today will be belief and confidence. This is proof that we do belong here this season when we want it enough.

October/November all of a sudden looks a great chance to build up some points.

[fernandopartridge]

Lets not point score tonight hey

Weve waited 9,287 days for that. Lets fucking enjoy it

We're Premier league now all points are precious

Said this in a group chat. We need grafters who cover ground in this league, he's definitely that.

[Ccfcisparks]

Everyone to a man worked hard. Not the team I want to see every week but they earnt that 3 points.

11 more of those needed.

Top away end today , best for a while View attachment 55183

So hard to get going though. Tbf, was much better on 1 tier as opposed to Citehs 3 tiers

[Chris1987]

Plenty still to work on but what a day.

[lifeskyblue]

Excellent all round. Defensively much improved. Mfuni looked like a seasoned pro, Thomas continues to develop into a very solid premier league player and Pinnock shows just why Lampard bought him. JDS gets better every game and has added goalscorer to his game. Yirinichi gave his all and walked a tightrope throughout (I was worried he would give away a penalty or be sent off). Grimes and Onyeka were more assured. Rudoni had a great first half, BTA ran his socks off (but is he really a PL starter?) and EMC held ball up well early on (but was a little disappointing. Rushworth solid without really being threatened.

[b12345]

Could not believe how utterly shit Liam Delap was. Breathed a massive sigh of relief the multiple times he ended a threatening attack with a dreadful effort on goal. Absolute thug too

[Mcbean]

Very happy for Frank and the lads - massive boost for confidence from
A faraway land

[jordan210]

The headloss from this guy is tremendous

On match of the day now

[cov87!]

Brilliant. Exactly what the doctor ordered after a bleak start every player stepped up.

Three centre halves assured, mfuni calm and composed in possession with the work rate of Yirenkyi on his shoulder. Pinnock showing that leadership that was missing and thomas containing delap throughout, JDS- that touch to set himself up was world class never mind the finish itself. Grimes and Onyeka both broke up play and worked their socks off as did BTA and Rudi. That’s the blue print, every player as well as Frank should take so much confidence from that. Hopefully a different feel about the place now going into the break. Let’s get behind them, they’ve earned it. PUSB

[Evo1883]

It was 100 % a foul and the correct decision to overturn the goal

[covcity4life]

They’ve all fucked off it’s hilarious

Full credit has to go to Lampard for this one, the team looked strange but it worked.

And to be on 3 points after 5 games is not a great start but it’s hardly unexpected either and certainly not season ending.

Also we have played the top 3 already so far

But enjoy it by being fucking disciplined

[skybluetony176]

Well TFFT. Landed in Spain to some great news. As I got on the plane I believed that they’d equalised, I didn’t know it was disallowed until we landed. Nice.

[Alkhen]

[Johhny Blue]

Definately well earned. Not a day to criticise really but I just have to say the game past grimes by. Thought for sure he would have brought Torp on. That aside we were good. The spirits back and the belief is back becuase it's not every day you face Arsenal and Man City away in opening fixtures.

Yes. Arsenal and Man City on the same day would be tough.

[hill83]

Brandon Thomas-One nil mate

[Warwickhunt]

JDS has been the biggest surprise this season in terms of performances to date

Don’t you dare wash them just yet.

Bugger off! He sits next to me

[hill83]

JDS has been the biggest surprise this season in terms of performances to date

Been saying it for ages. If he’s 6ft he’s not playing for us or Wales.

[SkyblueTexan]

Great win, but room for improvement. Still need to be more solid at the back. Yirenki need to be more careful with his challenges. Goal was well-worked route 1. Hopefully it kick starts our season.

[Mercian In Anglia]

The headloss from this guy is tremendous

'Back and to the left'...

[robbiekeane]

All those who’ve called for Lampard to be sacked over the last week can get in the bin as well.

christ was that really happening

place is the pits sometimes

[robbiekeane]

They deserve it, the constant catastrophising and out and out contempt shown to the players and manager needs calling out

and they will be the same rats at the end of the season when we survive, trying to justify the catastrophising by saying “well we were really poor at the time if you couldn’t see that then….”

fucking gimps

[CovValleyBoy]

Got to love Yirenkyi. What a player we have.
I've seen him in 3 matches (Monaco , Villa , Forest) fall to the ground & try to continue playing the ball with his head.

His commitment is off the charts.

[Ricketts]

If JDS could shoot….

That aged well

[Ricketts]

I took this picture yesterday. Is this the Phoenix rising from the flames?

[CovValleyBoy]

That aged well

Tbf Jay showed us against Hull he wanted to be our Top Scorer. Take a Bow Son.

[Legionairre]

Grimes will start but not BTA

You were saying?
