Match Thread Coventry City vs Brighton & Hove Albion FC (H) - Match Thread - Sun 13th September (2pm KO)

People saying the Verbruggen save from Rudi isn't a great save - the xGOT for that shot is 0.92, the highest of all shots in the match including the penalty. Higher than any of the goals in the Leeds v Newcastle game. Much higher than the average xGOT for a goal.

The commentators criticised Rudoni but I think he actually got it spot on, it was just really impressive keeping.

I cannot see what else Rudoni and especially Onyeka could have done, just two outstanding saves from an upper tier PL goalkeeper. Same with Simms against Donnaruma. Does make me wonder how we'll ever get past a PL-level keeper, though

It was a very good save. Of course, if it had landed further away he would have physically no chance of saving it, but those playing it down need to go and watch it again.

Ultimately Verbruggen did his job and kept them in the game at that point. Our goalkeeper has not been so influential. That's the difference at this level.
