Match Thread Coventry City vs Hull City (H) - Match Thread - Sat 29th August (3pm KO) (3 Viewers)

Have you read peoples DM's yes or no?

Why is astute allowed multiple accounts but others blocked?
I think in the time of the forum about 2 or 3 Dms have been reported where there's been threats, so in that instance. Other than that no.

Happy to talk about different instances, astute made one and it got merged. Are you comparing that to somebody who has made hundreds?

Why is he still being banned? Why is Greggs still being banned?

Who, somebody who tries to make tens of accounts a week?

I didn't ban Greggs as somebody else did, would have thought as top virtue signaler you would be all over that one?

There's others who have made other accounts after a few years away and have had them merged also.

Why should they? We have people posting anti semetic things, homophobic things, islamaphobic things and not banned.
So just let people off who have done that too? That's like saying let convicted criminals out because some people get away with it

You have a point that way too much stuff goes unpunished on here but it's silly to say unban those that did it previously imo

Tbh your lucky nick hasn't really gone for you considering how much you admit to purposely trolling for bites. I used to get warning DMs when I used to annoy stupot a decade ago lol

I can understand FL's frustrations yesterday. On reflection the tactics gave too much respect to hull's counter attacking potential, but tactics aside, play was too often slow and massively dependent on the wings, only one of which was working (once Tat's came on). Even then, crosses were always aerial, playing to Hull's strength at the back. No one hit the byline to cut back to oncoming runners so it was predictable, and too easy for Hull to defend. MVE was poor which didn't help of course and Ajari owned the right side all game. The players need to show some creativity when patterns are not working. That's not on Frank (unless he's set them up to do the same thing over and over, which I very much doubt). Lacking creativity, and the bravery to make the runs that break defensive patterns.

I got banned within a couple of days of signing up back in the day. :(

Is this where you're going off what people tell you again? I didn't personally ban Greggs but weird how you're against it.

Amazing how inconsistent you are with your outrage. Almost like you can completely change views 😂

Do we have people posting homophobic and anti semetic comments that are unbanned yes or no?

Greggs was. Boosh just trolled 247 and swore at people iirc.

This place is for fans. Disagreement happen but planning to ruin it is weird. If they both turned over a new leaf who am I to say no , I have no personal beef with either. But my reply was to you getting angry at nick not unbanning them.

And you have never wound people up or trolled?

No. Maybe my cousin did ..

Look everyone can have a little wind up form time to time. But if it's persistent it ruins the thread.

Once again this place is for cov fans. Don't want the entire experience ruined do we?

Fair enough.

When I was walking out of the ground yesterday I was moaning about the lack of running, so I’ve had a quick look at the actual running stats. Grimes is getting a fair bit of stick, but he’s covering about 11.7km per 90, which is right up there for us. Yirenkyi is around 11.5km too. The sprint numbers surprised me even more. Rudoni is doing plenty of sprinting, and Mason-Clark and Tchaouna are up there as well. But yesterday it still felt like everything was happening in front of Hull. Awoniyi would hold it up, but instead of someone going beyond him and giving them something to worry about, we’d just end up playing it backwards and starting again. The wide players seemed to be coming short more than they were trying to spin in behind. That might be the real issue. We’re doing the miles, and we’re doing some sprinting, but not many of those runs are actually useful. Where are the runs that stretch teams, drag defenders about, or give the man on the ball a proper option? If people were making the runs, then Grimes would look more effective. His game is getting on the ball and keeping it moving. But he is looking up at the moment and everyone is stood in front of a packed defence wanting it into feet.
I said about players not going beyond the man on the ball after Arsenal, how we expect to play through teams without doing this is confusing to say the least.

Hull fans simultaneously saying our squad is shite and that the league need to watch out as they have more to come and are amazing

After scrapping pasted the shite squad.

I know people get upset about what other fans say on social media but surely having a couple of thousand grown men pretending to maul at you is both weird and a little bit deflating.

Hopefully our fans who want fist pumps after a win against Plymouth will be a little bit humbled by them doing it a few times after they beat us.

When you've allowed yourselves into a position where Hull fans can shit on you, you know you've really fucked up.

Not on today's performance, Simms v Arsenal. Simms is a big boy, 6 feet 3. He, 6 foot. In fairness, I would have played both and gone more direct, against Hull. I posted that this week and got accused of living in the 90s. I loved the 90s, but I also watched Hull last week.

genuinely are you trolling. You constantly big up simms when it’s clear the management don’t rate him. It’s stupid as well to say he’s better than a guy whose scored 20 plus goals at those levels

We played way too slow yesterday, too many players playing too many sideways and backwards passes, need to be braver on the ball, especially in the wide areas with the wingers getting at the full backs more.

I dont like to be negative on Grimes, but he seems to slow the pace down atm, which hopefully he can change.

Was impressed with Amenda again, handle Mcburnie very well, seems to be a class above. We still have plenty of quality in the squad to turn it around, albeit its going to be hard work, which we all knew would be the case at the start of the season #PUSB

I think we’re all still massively pissed off and frustrated after yesterday, but some people genuinely reveal in it and it’s absolutely tragic.

This is a great outlet to vent, we all have the odd weird (or wrong!) take, but there’s more to life than football and wumming while people are pissed off is poor form.

Who is wumming, genuinely?

No I'm not Grendel. If the management don't like him, get rid of him. 20 goals in how many games Grendel? Just looked it up, one goal, every 4 games. Not sure what you read either. I didn't criticise him. Perhaps try reading what. I posted, not what you THOUGHT I posted.

We've been 1 dimensional for a while. How many goals do we score from a cross that leads to a header or a finish? It's a stonking majority I think

We also cannot allow teams to score first because we can't break them down when they sit in.

Think I mentioned this yesterday, we haven’t had a clear shot yet this season in the league.

Arsenal we had Rudoni header a yesterday Awoniyi’s. We need to be a bit more creative around the box

I miss the Championship ;)

The game reminded me of many we had when we were previously in the top flight. Younger supporters are probably going to have to get used to this possibly being typical, with just a handfull of games every season where we over perform, which we can cling onto to keep us coming back for more.
