Match Thread Coventry City vs Sunderland (H) - Coventry Building Society Arena - Sat 31st October (3pm KO) (17 Viewers)

Got to be strong across the back and midfield , as far as I'm concerned it is a must win game. They will be rested from last night too.

Yirenki at right back with a centre midfield partnership of Onyeka and Torp his set piece delivery is quality

The team I'd like to see on Sat.

I agree with this formation. We need to bolster the centre of midfield because that is where we get overrun.
Personally I am worried about Hamer's physical condition, but then again he wouldn't be the first tubby bloke to be able to run about for 90 minutes if he can. But Puskas never ran at all and nor does Messi so running isn't everything.

With an unprecedented chance of only two relegation spots this season, we are sleepwalking into one of them with a continued stubbornness to change things. If the same starting line up walks out on Saturday, serious questions need to be asked.

Even if the same line up wins the game?

Line up for me if Bobby is out injured. Get some pace up top to try and make the most of our transitions.

Think people are kidding themselves if they think he’ll drop Grimes, start Gboho for his debut and bring Tchaouna in from the cold as well. Maybe 1 of those 3.

He’s not going to start making 4/5 changes every week and seeing what sticks, has to be more methodical than that.

Same team and tactics would be insane

Think with how open we were against Newcastle, Frank has reverted to this low block system to try and make us more solid. This has caused major issues with our ability to create any chances and just hasn't worked. He has to take the handbrake off for this game. We don't have the players for a low block, especially if Bobby is out.

Goblins team above is the exact 11 i would like to see, Tats and BTA off the bench against tired legs is always the way to go for me.

MvE shouldn't really be in the team at this point. We cannot persist with players who are weak links or look scared, which he currently is.

I understand the calls for Gboho, he should have something about him given his experience, and might be able to make a difference. Tchaouna, I don't think should come in for Sakamoto after the last game or his own appearances though. I feel the calls to pick him are more down to those who don't favour the latter if anything, but I would put him on the bench.

Needs some changes in general. I want to see an enthusiastic performance.

The only thing about Tchaouna is his pace but maybe Cherif and Gboho give you that

The general consensus on here last season was that Simms wasn't good enough for us, yet now he's supposed to be our saviour in the PL.
He kept the team ticking over in Haji's absence for about 10 game's producing around 8-9 Goals and wins, he's always been good enough for me because I don't have a prejudice against him.

In fairness to Cherif the service to him has been woeful, he’s fed on scraps. Not talking Simms down but it’s a very different scenario this season to last. Regardless of starting 11, I’d say the universal feeling here is to want the team to be braver and more positive. We had the first 5 mins like that against Fulham and took the handbrake off later on against Newcastle. Any striker is going to struggle being largely isolated for long periods and having to rely on a ball lumped forwards from the keeper. The key decision for me isn’t about who plays CF but who and how we are going to give them something tangible to work with.

I don't know why people think Gboho and Tchouma are better than the alternatives. Frank sees them in training every day so has a better idea of who is performing. So I see lobbing them both in as a panic situation. I can't see him doing that and dropping Grimes.

Only for people who seemingly actually know him

I know majority won’t care and Not sure how well you know Sunderland players but the lineup I want to see Saturday for us is:

Roefs
Nordi Alderete Danso Reinildo
Ahoka Xhaka
Ta bi Le Fee Angulo
Brobbey
