Match Thread Tottenham Hotspur vs Coventry City (A) - Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Mon 19th October (8pm KO) (21 Viewers)

dont quite get the hamer pile on....he comes on with 15 mins in a gamer where either team barely strung 2 passes together...i dont feel you can really see where hes at unless he gets a full 90 mins. I feel we bring teams down to our level which possibly flatters us a little bit.
He played the whole of the game against what was mainly a Villa Reserve Team and what did he do?

Having had time to think about last night here are my thoughts:
1. Frank used his "squad" last night but in the wrong way. It looks like he brought some of his subs on so they didn't "moan" rather than to change the game. He has to start being "hard" and picking our best team, and bringing on subs to change the game.
2. The subs were chaotic. You don't bring Hamer on to push Rudi, our main man going forward, to the right wing. Also, Awoniyi instead of Simms. He runs like he is 40, and can't head a ball to save his life, nothing stuck to him at all.
3. I don't know why Torp wasn't brought on when we were losing. He passes forward, the best passer we have, is excellent at dead balls, and there was nothing to lose.
4. The price tag is affecting Rushie. He looks so tense, and never mind the last 2 goals, he made a mess of a simple shot earlier, dropped a simple cross against Newcastle.
5. We didn't get anything from the Officials, 2 blatant offsides missed, and we should have had a corner when it was 1-1 and getting on top.
6. Finally, MVE has to be dropped for KKH, if nothing else to show him that he is not undroppable. Currently he is offering nothing going forward, and is poor defensively, never stopping crosses coming in. I have always thought he has been poor defensively and it is only his pace that has got him out of trouble many times. Remember we had started quite well at Arsenal until he gave the goal away. Our best defensive performance this year came at Forest when Yirenki played right wing back.

Could I please ask you all to email the club re the 18 and 21 team pages. The pages are over 2 years old and I think it's disrespectful to our young players. If they can't be arsed to populate those pages properly, close them altogether.

It will be not working hard enough when training, not moaning.

I'm sure most managers will put up with a whinger if they put the work in.

Also, there are only 7 players in the Under 21 & 6 in the Under 18's respectively lol.
In addition, there is an Under 21 game today which is not publicised anywhere apart from the Under 21 fixtures. They have just put up the City Team on X after the game has started. We never get match reports either. It does sum up much of the communication at the Club which has been pretty poor throughout the summer.

How do you explain last night's Subs then instead of bringing on Simms, Torp & Mfuni who helped us to win last week's game, including 2 of them being goal scorers? You suggesting those 3 not working hard enough in training this week?

To be fair most of the goals we have conceded are worldies, its to do with intensity and preventing these chances occurring
Maddison’s one was unsaveable. The other two were very saveable. Tottenham hardly created anything last night, because of our intensity. There will always be moments when 500m worth of internationals will get shots away. We *have* to rely on our keeper making saves in those moments.

We were already ahead in that game and Awoniyi wasn’t available last week. I’m sure Lampard made his subs based on how he saw the game at the time, both last night and last week.

Yup, premier league with league 2 coms

Carl Rushworth has been fucking shit this season

Yes he's made mistakes especially the third goal but to say his shit, is an overreaction.

Just look at the mistakes Jordan Pickford makes!

I was a little disappointed by Frank's interview, when he seemed reasonably happy with the performance (to the media anyway). Had I not watched the game, and seen the result I would assume Spurs did finally click as everyone has said they would. In reality, I thought they were the worst side we've played this season. They turned the ball over numerous times across the 90 mins which we failed to capitilise on.
Frank may of played a more attacking formation but we looked twice as dangerous at Man City & Forest playing 5 at the back,.

I like BTA and he has a role this season, but come on. He wasn't a winger in the Championship, and he's being played there in the Premier League? With expensive signings Gboho & Tchauama not even on the bench.

Simms gets no minutes, despite scoring last week. Frank it seems will try his hardest not to play him, or bring him on.
That sublime cross by Dasilva 2nd half that Awonywi missed. Simms would have buried that every day of the week.

Really deflated. Like I felt after Brighton or Hull. Maybe it's just me.

Not just you. The goalscorers from last week should have been brought on
