Match Thread Coventry City vs Sunderland (H) - Coventry Building Society Arena - Sat 31st October (3pm KO) (1 Viewer)

HAS to be changes, its clear that midfield has issues. Id go:

Rushworth
Mve Mfuni Pinnock dasilva
Onyeka yirenkyi
Hamer
Rudi simms/cherif gboho/emc

Rushworth
MVE, Mfuni, Pinnock, Dasilva
Torp, Onyeka
Sakamoto, Rudoni, Gboho
Draw lots for Simms, Awoniyi or Cherif

Beat them

They are not a good team this season. They have out performed the stats for two seasons in a row, this season its coming back to bite them.

Go ahead and you will win this by 2 or 3 and id love it

Onyenka or hamer for grimes I would like to see. Keep yirnki and rudoni

On wings it would be nice to see new lads .

Defence is fine and mfuni in if Thomas out

Upfront it seems nothing seperating any of them really.

I cant see him dropping Grimes but I think he needs to and bring Onyeka in.

3 5 1 1/3 5 2 may have been worth a go but think the CB situation has seen to any chance of that.

Massive game this!

All eyes on the starting line up really. If unchanged and we lose because of poor subs then serious questions need to be asked

Sunderland poor this season and playing three times a week, got to take advantage of that!

Would be nice to dominate then like playoff semi just to show not much has changed but that seems unlikely.

What's the best odds I can get on us losing 1-0 to an 80-something minute goal?

huge game this, id take a point.

I don't see FL moving away from the shape, and selection will only change due to injury.
He i think is determined to make this work with the 11 he picks.

We need to win.
Ideally yes

Although it's all very close so a point still could prove vital

A must not lose for me

Remember man city will ikely be relegated. We need to finish above 2 other teams

Ioswhich
Hull
Sunderland
Palace
Fulham
Forest
Man U!

Take your pick. Let's not get cut adrift

A win puts us back on track with 9 from 9 games. But i just think its a big game for Frank, he keeps talking about the players being braver but he has to be braver himself. Assuming Bobby is out,

Rushworth
Milan Mfuni Pinnock Jay
Onyeka Yirenkyi
Tats Rudi Gboho
Cherif

Xhaka and Sidiki for them will really battle in the middle of the park, Grimes has to be dropped for this.

Lets be honest its must win

Rushworth
Milan
Pinnock
Mfuni
Dasilva
Onyeka
Yirenkyi
Tchouana
Rudoni
Gboho
Cherif

But i bet none of that happens

What have you actually seen from Tchouana that suggests he is worth a starting place? To me his absence has given him some Kudos. His performances have looked pretty average at best

Because we have spent a lot of money on him and he's played 150+ games in the Prem, Ligue 1 and Serie A, he can't be any worse from what we have seen the last 2 games. Time to start rolling the dice on some of these lads, they are not going to get any better if they don't play.

That's the team i think i'd like to see pretty much, i fear it won't even be close to that yet again though.

He has started 40 games at those levels and has not featured in anything like 150 even as a sub - far less than Awoniyi so on that basis you would be starting him every week

He has not done a thing to justify starting yet

Sorry you're right it's not 150 but he has made 100 appearances at those levels. 33 Prem, 57 Serie A, 10 Ligue 1.

Still vastly more experience than our other wingers. Like i said, he cant be any worse than EMC or BTA. I love Tats but he is at his best off the bench against a tired fullback, we saw that with Lewis Hall. We have lost 2 games in a row with 1 shot on target. It's time to try something new.

Rushworth
MVE, Mfuni, Pinnock, JDS
Onyeka
Sakamoto Torp EMC
Rudoni
Cherif

One holding midfielder, Torp further forward, Rudoni further forward and central.
Onyeka to step up when attacking. Rudoni to step back when defending.

If personel need changing in game
Torp - Hamer/Yirenki
Cherif - Simms/Awoniyi
Onyeka - Grimes
Sakamoto - Gboho
EMC - Tchouna
Rudoni - BTA

Then ask frank why he signed him

Managers and recruitment teams are never going to have a 100% success rate - come on

If we get it right this is a very winnable game but that is a big if.
