No real specifics.....just a healthy level of cynicism of big pharma coupled with the fact its a "new" vaccine technology.

I think we’d have noticed if there were any side effects by now, we’ve been jabbing millions with it for almost a year and vaccines are out your system in a few weeks.

The tech is almost as old as I am, first paper was 1988 I think

I suppose the best reassurance is that yes, they're evil money making entities, but causing serious side effects in people would stop that evil money making potential just like that!

This is also why most “drug dealers spike mild drugs with hardcore drugs” urban myths are false.

Its the combo of the new technology & the race to market......just got reservations is all.
I wouldn’t worry about how quickly it came out. All the Covid vaccines didn’t have the same issues other medications have in that there was no shortage of money for development which drove a faster development process as there was no delays while waiting on funding and also there was no shortage of volunteers for the trials so trials could happen quickly. There’s no evidence whatsoever that corners were cut, it just happened quicker for 2 specific reasons.

Spot on. Multiply that by the number of doses given out around the world as well

There was a caller on LBC the other day (a teacher frighteningly) who was still refusing jab and sighted issues this young woman had...’oh, is this someone you know ?’ said the presenter. ‘No an American woman posted it on FB’ 🤦‍♂️

Yeah, with everything there'll probably be somebody who has a bad reaction to it - it's the overall data that's important. Same as Covid really... once the effects come down to a level that's 'appropriate' we can 'live with it' but that doesn't mean *nobody* will be affected.

We just have to get there... and vaccines will help us do so!

Isn't that the point of why you might have to re-introduce some measures though. It's more infectious and there is a load of it around so you have to slow the spread.

I would happily be forced to wear masks in shops again if it meant pubs stayed open and we weren't facing another lockdown which I really don't think I could handle very well.
Do we lock down every year for influenza?

Nope so why now if you want to wear a mask in public you do that but u til guide lines change I aint doing anything I dont need to, Im vaccinated and have previous Infection if I catch covid ágain I might just out the lottery on.

You've just admitted yourself covid kills more people than flu and one of the main reasons for that is that there is so much of it around.

The way to then stop so many people dying or getting to a point we need to lock the country down is to try and make sure there is less of it around.

How do we do that in your mind?

All kind of context as well. Were they the only people in the carriage, the guy opposite could be her fella ? Has Gordon chosen to sit there just to take the photo ? Is she uncomfortable breathing etc etc ? I’ve pulled mask down for a minute when nobody is around just to get some air in. Gordon needs to get a life....looks like he got a clipboard, probably registering non mask wearers. Did he even ask her to put it on properly if it’s busy ?

No I didn't, the death rate is lower the the flu.

Just let its course take, most will survive anyway, its nothing more than a bad flu season,

I think we had a bad flu season 3 or 4 years ago and it killed something like 55k people, country didnt go mad then, I fact you never heard about it, this covid shit will be a norm just live with it and stop being babies.

Flu is less infectious though. If that flu season was covid then you're looking at over a hundred thousand again.

If you answer is just let old people die instead of put some minor inconveniences on yourself then I'll just leave this here as I don't think it's worth it.

I asked this before but you must have missed it. Is there a point at which you would consider deaths to be too high? If you take our current death rate if that doesn't drop we're looking at covid being up there with heart disease as the nations biggest killer annually.

Of course you have to factor in that the covid deaths, already far higher than flu, are with restrictions in place at various points. If you didn't have restrictions at any point then you'd have been highly likely to see a significant rise in the covid figure. That's before you even consider if we reached a point where hospitals were overrun, the number would go through the roof then.

I think a 1,000 a day are currently admitted to hospital with COVID which is a very small fraction of the total.

You always have to look at excess deaths really not deaths just with COVID

Never once said it was only old people I just think nature Works the way it wants, most who die are at the end of their life cycle anyway if that to be a heart attack, cancer. Or what ever else.

No figure in mind but hospitals are coping pretty well rn, cases will soon be dropping there cant be much more to infect around the country, I dont think hospitalisations will ever hit the 8k a day Márk they did I dont even think they would hit the 2k a day Márk + most who go in hospital atm are discharged the following day.

But the spread is far higher so overall it’s more of a threat. This has been said since day one how are people still falling for this nonsense?

Look, when alls said and done, no world leader shuts down their economy for no good reason. Whatever you’ve read or whatever gotcha you think you’ve got you’ve got to explain why you’re smarter than literally the collective mind of all the smartest people on the planet in this area. It’s just stunning arrogance.

No just not a baby, I've took the vaccine to protect others thats good enough for me if I died from covid then it is what it is, reasons for everything and if my life is to be ended tommorow so be it.
Do you wear a seatbelt
Do you run into roads with cars?
Do you throw away out of date food?
Do you keep toxins out of the reach of your children?
Ffs how old are you

There's been 8 million infections , and covid can be caught more than once ..

To be fair mate this shit can keep going , obviously we will eventually get ontop of it
