If Labour wants/wanted to get elected it would be someone like her and tbh a female would be a good move IMO in spite of the nutty reversion to male populists.
Pragmatic wins the day for me.

What are the ONS number's like usually 2-3 times those tested?
Half term extended might be more fruitful and less disruptive.
I can't wrap my head around there fancy wording best to look yourself 😂.

It doesn't tally with R rate falling like that study suggested the other day.

12.8k cases today , calling it now national lock down in November.
Fucking hell leys hope its an outlier or therfe are awful times to come.

Its weird. I’ll always try to play devils advocate but a ‘technical issue’ is not good enough in the current climate. Will keep an eye on hospital admissions etc but it feels to me that the numbers weren’t fitting with the narrative (hence a massive delay in releasing)

Ah i

Ah is that what it is,a revision, catch up of delayed info?
Hope so.

Thank fuck it was a backlog, 12k cases would of been a massive jump and worry, although I do belive we will be up with France and Spain soon enough.

there's been "backlogs" before and the data stays at the same level.

if it is just a backlog that would also mean that previous days awful figures are even worse

Two latest polls have Labour and Tories tied at 39%

Cases above 2,000 here yesterday and it looks like masks will have to be worn at all times in public or on the spot fines of around €500. Already been rolled out in Rome but expected to be announced nationwide in the coming days.

Interesting article looking at why some outbreaks are much larger than others. Obviously just one persons opinion but worth a read.

Really interesting article, thanks Dave (bit of a tough read after a heavy Saturday night but stuck with it !)

hope our senior science bods have read it !

ps if correct, is also why crowds should be able to go back to outdoor sporting events

Interesting. Though without an actual world class track and trace system I don’t see how the measures would be different. We still don’t know what determines who will be a superspreader unless I missed it in the article.

anyone heard from Dom? He sounded a bit down last time he was posting. Hope he's OK.

Is this legit?

EDIT - So apparently it contains 15000 cases missing from the data between 25/09 and 02/10

What does this do to the doubling every 7 days scenario Vallance spoke about

Bit worrying really about the numbers. Looked like it was increasing much less than anticipated but it turns out the test and trace system is not as world beating as promised and boom. Here are the positive cases.

This is what happens when they decide what the story is first, then manipulate the stats to suit it.
We’re all being played for mugs here.

They have also now ‘leaked’ another policy to decide if it’s popular enough for implementing
