Ill start this by saying that this isnt a reaction to how our season has so far looked, but just a preference. Our start to the season isnt a factor (it hasnt helped the matter) but isnt the reason behind my preference.
For years ive had zero, literally no interest in the PL. Ive always felt it so overrated. Ive never known the majority of players, not followed scores, league tables, etc etc. Never watch MOTD. I just have zero interest in it. Ive always felt the lower leagues have been so much more personable. More homely.
Even now we're in the PL i have little interest in it. Though i do check results and tables now as it effects us, i couldnt tell you barely any players names, what teams are or arent good/in form etc. I still have more interest in the Championship than I do the PL, even though we're no longer there. So far today ive watched the 1st half of Millwall v WHU, the 2nd half of Stoke v Blades and currently watching Blues v Boro game. No interest in Spurs v Villa (though i did look the scores up which I wouldn't have this time last season) or any of the 3pm PL games. None whatsoever.
Though we've had some dark times in the lower leagues, I always felt they were also some of the best times aswell. I get it, everyone always wants to play and compete at the highest level, otherwise why bother? But ive no interest in it. The championship is much more competitive and exciting for me.
It also doesnt help, that for the first time in a long time I dont feel valued by the club. We are now, like all PL team fans, just a number. A number to be taken advantage of as a cash cow. I no longer feel like an important and needed fan. Once the backbone of the club, now just a number with a £ attached.
I also dont think this would be different if we were in Hulls position currently. I just dont have any affinity or attraction to the PL.
