I had the AZ on Thursday morning. I felt perfectly fine until 6pm and since then I've gradually felt worse. Sporadic uncontrollable shaking and feeling bitterly cold whilst doing so. The house is like an oven and usually I would be shirtless but got a shirt, jumper and coat on too. Also got a sick feeling, slight headache and total lethargy though when I try to sleep I'm not tired. Hopefully it'll pass quickly. The wife is suffering the same but she has managed to nod off so my headache may now clear a little quicker.

Choice of vaccines for under 40s now. I’ll be swerving AZ if I can. I know the risk is low but if I can why not? I’m a gambler and the risk of clots from AZ is higher than the risk of serious illness from Covid at my age. Mental not to given the choice. I’d take a Stella over a Carling.

Paid to stay at home during a hot summer, of course people were going t enjoy it.

I think the second lockdown was a far worse experience for a lot of people, Icertainly found it tougher going.

I also don't think you should conflate this with people who have genuine concerns about the easing of restrictions due to a fear of the virus.

People have had covid horror stories morning noon and nightmare over year. Its going to affect people.

About the same as flying to the canaries I think I read somewhere. Many many times lower than something commonly taken by lower age groups such as the contraceptive pill.

Drinking alcohol increases your risk of blood clots, especially DVT’s. The units of alcohol being a factor so stick to the Carling

Sounds like what I got. All I can say is that if that's the mild side effects, I'm glad I haven't caught Covid!

Doesn't mean they love it. Almost certainly means they've found the less hectic pace of life and not being completely nose to the grindstone or having to go to engagements etc that they don't really want to.

Bu at the same time do you think they love the idea of being separated from family and friends on a continual basis? Or home schooling? I doubt it. It's just lockdown feels like it's given them more time and freedom that they'll lose again when it goes.

I got about an hour of sleep all night, very similar to when I had flu (or a bad cold) a couple of years back. This morning however i'm back at around 90%, much much better. Paracetamol certainly helped during the night so don't let it put you off. If this is a mild reaction then i'm very glad I didn't have the real thing.

Exactly. Given the choice between being ill for a couple of days, or *ill* for a few months, I know which I'll take!

I don't disagree with a lot of what you are saying. My point was that some people are (for whatever reason) enjoying the lockdown situation and shaming others into their beliefs by playing the guilt card. Whether it is 1% or 10%, there are people like that.

Yes, I certainly see where you are coming from. I don't think for a moment that the second and third lockdowns weren't worse on people. The latest one certainly affected a few people I know who I never thought would be.

I've said many times that I respect the views of those with genuine concerns, but I also think healthy debate between the lifting of restrictions versus other issues such as mental health and economy etc etc, is a debate worth having. As it happens, it looks like we are nearly out of it now, so I don't have a problem with the exit strategy as it stands. I do have an issue with people who want to impose their views on others in the form of guilt. They may be a minority, but it does happen.

I said previously that at the start of the pandemic that I thought it was bringing out the best in humanity, but as we near the end of it, I have also seen a lot of things which make me feel like we have seen the worst too.

Fair e nough. I do actually know a couple of people who are very much using the guilt trip of lockdown to their advantage.

No, you are scraping the barrel and trying to insinuate that I have been attacking people with mental health conditions because my point of view differs from yours, when in actual fact I have done my best on this forum to try and support people for the most part.

I said 'some people love the lockdown and want to impose stronger measures on others', which does have some legs, but is still just my opinion which you have seemingly failed at counter-arguing without screaming and shouting like a five year old. The fact you want to have me burned in public for a quite tame point of view is more of a of a picture of you than it is of me.

If this conversation is genuinely affecting you then let's just leave it.

You have attacked people with mental health conditions, you have attacked me. You have trivialised and mocked and demeaned.
Everybody says things they don't mean, or stupidly, foolishly. None of us are perfect, or can be expected to know what others feel when something is said and done.

After having had it pointed out to double down, however, is... not cool.

And dangerous.

Because I've seen in the past with people, what happens if they think nobody will believe them, or take them seriously. We have a mental health thread for that reason after all.
So fuck off with that shit. You also said *I* was a lockdown lover and wanted everyone else to be scared too.

Fuck off you c**t. You just can't see it.

And as for the lockdown lover accusation (and yes, it was direct to me) then he knows nothing about me, or what me, my family, or closest friends have been through, so he can fuck off with the trite phrases, and the attempts to weasel out.

I have not attacked anyone with mental health conditions. Pointing out that some people want to restrict others is dangerous in what way exactly? It is true, and mental health conditions, important surgery, and other consequences as a result of further lockdown restrictions are serious themselves and therefore it is worth having the debate.

So we are not allowed to have an opinion in case it upsets you? What exactly is this mental health condition that you are claiming is so sensitive. I really don't get it. Other than calling you a 'lockdown lover' which, considering that you were having a go at people wanting to have restrictions lifted, is hardly crime of the century.

You have just called me a c**t again, stop playing the victim.

That's fine, but I'm not sure why you even posted what you did if you had no intention to get involved. I've offered a truce which got met with being called a c**t about three of four times. I've said I'm happy to leave it as long as he also agrees to stop taking swipes at me on other threads, which was then met with 'fuck off'. Last time I checked, pointing out that some people are enjoying lockdown and/or are power hungry to tell people off is not a psychological condition. I have generally been pretty sympathetic with people who want to be more cautious than me, but if someone is going to be twisted enough to try and force their narrative on others, only to hide behind a rock and send a barrage of bile abuse (which far outweighs anything I've said on this thread) when confronted, particularly when I've done my best on this forum to try and support posters who have openly admitted their struggles, then sadly my level of patience wears a bit thin.

Is it not give, or offer a choice?

Irony is Pfizer has better results it seems, and it'll go to the people who need it less. That could be a good thing however as it'll probably reduce spread more.

There's a plan to vaccinate all Olympic athletes and staff. Wonder if there's been any talks behind the scenes of doing the same for football. We're not far off the point where they would qualify but as it can knock you out for a few weeks is there an argument to get it done over the close season?
