CCFC/Ipswich/Hull summer recruitment thread. (4 Viewers)

Hull City fan here.

I don’t think you needed to do massive amounts of business as you have built steadily over the last few years and have a settled management and squad.

We were miles behind you last season, so to try and catch up we are making a lot of moves. Every player we bring in improves our starting line-up. Tsolakis for Pandur, Mendy for Egan, Gourna-Doath for Crooks and so on. We are delighted to be getting written off by everyone- that’s what worked out well for us last season, and I think Jakirovic is a great manager, who will play on this and get every last drop out of our squad.

Ipswich on the other hand, just seem to have gambled on a manager and a squad. Could be great, could be disastrous. Cementing that group together is going to be a hell of a task.
I have nothing against Hull particularly and was glad you won the playoffs, but your owner is a complete mentalist. I'm not sure what he thinks he's doing with these flags and percentages but he's already made himself look a complete tool with it.

I don't know much about encisco but it seems a lot of money for a luxury player but hey maybe he'll be key for them

Gone all in on him after we beat them to The Sheriff!
Think their recruitment will turn out to be very good, or a disaster!!
he's clearly got ability but he hasn't shown he can do it all the time for them.

It may work out but is he what you need in a relegation battle?

They've gone in a very different way to 2 years ago when they mopped up top end championship players and stayed mainly in the UK market. not this time and I think they might be ok.

Am I right in thinking he was on loan there before?

i really don't think they will, 1 and a half players I would want.

I don't think they will either, i'm looking forward to seeing how it goes as i reckon there might be some trolling opportunities with some of their more obnoxious online fans.

They also have a shoite manager this year instead of a pretty good one

You have to imagine last season Coventry had a great season. Ipswich never really clicked but however it's dressed up beat Coventry 5-0 over two games whether one can blame the referee or injuries. This season both sides have the opportunity to stay up. Both sides still have business to do the Premiership is brutal. Enciso was on the Ipswich radar long before the two strikers City got in. Another striker will come in at Ipswich it may go to the last day possibly a loan if the right striker cannot be bought for the right price.
Coventry will also be busy the next fortnight. And then there is Hull 😭

its not beyond the realms that both teams stay up. You have to look at those teams just above that might not have the best season.. Fulham, Palace, Sunderland ( have to cope with midweek games ). Maybe even Brentford, Bournemouth and Forest if they have a bad start.

they or you probably played us when we had a small squad riddled with a virus

In the end we still finished double points ahead of you and you have a worse manager this year.

Diop id the only plyer you have signed I have thought "yeah he'd be okay here".

You never know what the season will bring and who will have a bad one or not, which players get injured etc. everyone thought Sunderland were going down last season and they made the Europa League

As we didn’t sign 10 players in the first month of the Window and we brought Hamer back there’s a weird belief amongst Ipswich fans that we’re doing what the done last time around. This was their starting 11 on opening day.

They are complete fuckwits tbf.

Tbf if we signed ensico we’d all be buzzing. The truth with attackers is confidence plays such a key role. Will be 50/50 if ours perform better than Ipswich.

If you compare it to our big midfield signing in Yirenkyi I know who I’d prefer

There will be a natural rivalry with them this year as we both want the same thing and probably only one of us (at most) will achieve it. Games against them will be massive.

That's pretty honking. Think they have done a better job this time to be fair to them.
Not a high bar. I’d give both squads as they stand an equal chance of staying up, ie not very much.

Assuming the 2 strikers are done. If I said Tomori, Mudryk and any decent enough LB (not beyond the realms of possibility imo) what would you say then?

I have assumed those strikers in my post. If you add those three on top, I’d say it gives us a fighting chance.

Why am i leaning towards Acheampong more than tomori...
I'm leaning Tomori, I think we've done a good job of buying young players likely to increase in value, I'd like some experience now. Good thing about Tomori is, he's experienced but also not old at the same time.

The Athletic prefer Ipswich but say we’re both going down.

Bet Rudoni would easily match Encisos output in France tbh, the bottom half of that league is Championship as fuck. Really looking forward to seeing fit Rudi in the Prem and think we have decent cover too.

Where does Rudi fit into the team if our 3 is Grimes, FTT and CY,
