To leave on the bench?

He’s more experience than many at this level and his stats at this level and in the Champ for attacking play are right up there.

I don’t get the hate on here for him.

This reminds me of the Sheaf days. Say anything bad about him and there’s a pile on of the deluded. Suggest Gus rather than the totally ineffectual Grimes (as he is atm) as a focal playmaker and the deluded resurface. Gus has been called overweight for years.

I’d play an eager and more adventurous Gus over “we will be lucky to survive so, I know, I’ll pass to Rushworth” Grimes all day long.
Lol I am "deluded" for noticing Hamer's shocking lack of fitness and match sharpness in 100% of his appearances so far this season, okay!

Grimes has hardly covered himself in glory this season but considering that Hamer looks exhausted within minutes of getting on the pitch I don't know what you've seen that leads you to conclude that we should start him.

I have to say (unpopular as it may be) that the journey was always going to be better than the destination for me. I long since lost interest in the Premier League, never know who is playing who or take any interest in results unless they affect us. Add to the mix that even the poorest PL sides are likely to have too much for us and its a bit bleak. I just hope we get more adventurous and give the fans particularly the younger ones something to remember and get excited about. I can live with us going down but not playing anti football

We know what Hamer can do though (when fit that is) - plus he's played in the Prem
We now know what Grimes can do at this level & he's just not cut out for it

Anybody seen the goal from behind?
Would like to see Rushworth s position.
The angle I've seen so far he doesn't even move.

Far more to discuss than him today though.

Rudi let him back on to his left foot and he pinged it in off the post.

Mo keeper is saving it

Frank brought on similar subs today as Monday and both times it has made us worse. We are looking for a goal so we take our right winger off leaving a massive gap on that side of the pitch. Rudi even said shall I go out there and was told no. If Gboho is not going to get on then he will never get on. I cannot see how Gus & Rudi in the same position is going to change the game.

Playing Mfuni as midfield sounds
Ridiculous at first. Then you think, hang on, is he better than Grimes and tackling back, is he better on defensive duty, will he be able to slot into back 4 /5 if defenders up….

Maybe his career won’t be a defender. He’s 19. Who knows.

I got laughed at when I suggested that but now that Bobby Thomas is injured, he'll probably be out for two or three months, so we have no choice but to play Mfuni in defence because we've got nobody else. 😡

Christ, there are some absolute muppets on here. The level of non understanding as to how difficult it is to step into this league, without parachute payments and having not been in it for 25 years is embarrassing. It’s frustrating to lose football matches. But when will reality kick in? We’ve got to try and scrape our way through this year. Teams are better than us. There’s no one we “should” beat. Grow up and get behind those trying the near impossible

Shall we just say the afternoon didn't go as planned.

No one expected us to stay up at a canter. You’ve made a strawman here that doesn’t exist.

There's two glaring problems.

One is the recuritment, the other is the management decisions. Perhaps one is effecting the other and that's why he's playing it safe with his favourites because he knows some of the new ones are not good enough, but I can't see logical plans in general or during games.

Questions need to be asked I think. Why have we got players worth so much money not playing more than 10 minutes, or indeed anything at all.

If I was King I'd be asking questions.

VAR check for a penalty. Looked like BTA was lucky to get away with a big pull on Bassey.
Not really as he'd just been the recipient of the same,Bassey even enhanced it by jumping, not a very good advert for the game, even struggling against Cherif at a couple of points.

Something isn't right, spent a fortune on some players and they can't even make the match day squad. Others can't get a kick. Both Loum and Ghobo have looked good in the glimpses we've seen. Simms started the season well, looked bang up for it, full of confidence, can't even get a look in now.

MVE, Grimes, BTA need dropping. They aren't at the level unfortunately.

Today looked like an FA Cup game between a Championship side and a Premier league one.

I expected us to go down this season, but this is pathetic.

We were first to be promoted. When the window opened June 15th, I waited to see who they had lined up to buy. Nothing. We now have Nottingham Forests 4th choice striker. Brentfords unwanted defender. Relegated Burnleys winger and a man city player who played 8 times for Watford last season...

Oh well, disappointing result but we just don’t have the squad to seriously compete at this level. Happy we’ve had some nice wins so far, hopefully there will be some more, but fully expect us to finish rock bottom bar a big Man City points deduction.

Today reminded me of the HULL game we just tried to go wide and then put it into the box to no avail
Out set pieces this season have been awful, never seam to beat the first man
I would like Lamps do so radical changes for Sunderland - change both full backs
Put onyeka in alongside torp and play the 3 French lads up top - give them the freedom to attack
Harsh on JDS but having Mafuni there makes us stronger defensively
Saying that!! Let’s give up on the MVE long throw!! 8/10 times it’s frustrating the it doesn’t clear the first man!!

The thing is we don't know what instructions King gave to Austin & the recruitment team. It is strange that one of the signings we heard Lampard want was Tchaouna and now he doesn't play him. He was very quiet about some of the other signings.

We are 1 injury away from having Lati playing Centre half in the Premier League 😡. The problem we have now with Pinnock & Mfuni is that they are both left footed. Pinnock especially looks more assured on the left.

I think this whole thing about Lampard ‘wanting’ Tchaouna was from fabrizio romano’s tweet just before we signed him and the wording he used. Wouldn’t read too much into it as he chats utter bollocks.
