Match Thread Tottenham Hotspur vs Coventry City (A) - Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Mon 19th October (8pm KO) (8 Viewers)

We are competing pretty well. We don't look overwhelmed and we don't look out of our depth.

the whole post is bang on and this sums it up. If folks were expecting more than they've seen so far, I can't understand why. I've seen enough to trust the squad and the coaches and not panic.

I think most of us were expecting a relegation battle, so not sure why people are getting themselves worked up over the fact that we're playing like a team in a relegation battle.
Said it before but exactly the same thing happened when we first went up to the Championship.
We're doing OK in my opinion. Still think Hull was the only game where you could say, yeah, that was bloody awful.

And Arsenal but that was forgivable

Spurs too are playing to stay up, home game for them with no win on the board yet. Understandable result.

The Cup game against Villa was bad as well. That was objectively a terrible performance by pretty much the vast majority of players bar Torp.

I was only looking at league games, but again, despite people calling it a second string, several players who featured for villa that night have played champions league football this season.
So agree, it wasn't good, but the level of opposition has increased dramatically from last season.

I pointed this out the other day, this is the issue with our league you have Starting XI's behind Starting XI's. Whereas in the Championship - pushing aside the sizeable quality and ability gap - the vast majority of teams just don't have that level of depth.
