The Football League have released their attendance analysis for last season, which is available here - http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/AttendanceStats/0,,10794,00.html
Here are some of the relevant stats. I've avoided comparing to the league average because our mighty numbers skew them...
I was talking to one of the Colchester Stewards the other day at work and he said in their pre-match briefing to expect lots of pitch invasions from us. Apparently they drafted in extra stewards for it and everything. So, I don't know if we have this reputation everywhere, Col U are just twitchy...
Maybe this is his Mike Bassett moment? There's little success or hope, everyone has turned on him... Maybe he'll snap at the next press conference, decide on a no-nonsense approach and lead us to the Semi-Finals of the World Cup.
It's my Uni's local derby day, so I'll probably sack off this essay and watch our Football instead. Free entry, cheap beer and sunshine, though it's pretty dire I'm more invested in my Uni football team than my Cities.
Just looked at the Parliamentary Election Results for 2010 in Coventry... we wouldn't get someone elected to MP. We probably couldn't even get someone to beat one of the major parties. So, that scuppers my idea pretty much... unless you get media attention just from someone standing on that kind...
This is going to come a bit out of left field and sound slightly ridiculous, but there bear with me. There's an election coming up. Back in the ol' days, we'd get the Union leader to stand for MP (Hello Bob, with your glorious moustache!) and he'd represent the interests of the workers. Well...
