You can't compare Trafford and Rushworth. Trafford is younger, proven Premiership goalkeeper, played for England at every level, won the FA Cup and League Cup (actually played not on the bench) Rushworth has done none of those. The only things in common are they are both keepers and English.

Players mature at different at ages ie Jamie Vardy.

Rushworth was out for a year with an injury, playing catch up, Trafford playing for Man City no injuries no setbacks.

I'm not sure how I'm avoiding that. We pissed the league. You don't do that with repeatedly underwhelming transfer windows.

Not every signing has to pull up trees, not every signing has to be automatic first choice, but they do need to bring something to the squad. The players you are talking about all do.

I don't know why poor recruitment for a promoted team is a hill you want to die on. It's a weird take.
