Transfer Rumour Summer Transfer Window 2026 (28 Viewers)

Just read albeit a less trusted source that West Ham are looking at Haji Wright, Wright, Wright
Olé, Olé, Olé, Olé Haji Wright, Wright, Wright.
Most likely bullshit but what are people's thoughts about Haji going if a serious bid was offered.

Weirdly think the Prem will suit Haji
I think the opposite, I think he isn't clinical enough at times.

He is also very hot or cold with his work off the ball, and that will be a problem when we dont have the ball for large periods of games next year.

At times he looks brilliant, pressing and winning the ball. But the next game he isn't winning aerial battles and isn't working back enough.

I also think he won't get the time and space that he had in the championship, which is where he looked most effective for me.

I was a huge fan of his in the championship, but I think we need a different type of striker in the Prem.

I think you sometimes get more time and space in the prem. He was great against Wolves and United, I agree we definitely need another though.

My only issue with Wright is his off the ball work or lack of. He is very reactive not pro active and i don't think puts himself about enough. In the prem you have to work the defenders and not always to get the reward yourself. You work them and bring on players that take advantage of heavy legs. Lets see but he will have to improve on his fitness and agility to make an impact.

His main job will be to chase balls over the top and on the break, which is where some of his best performances have come from.

Rangers supporters forum.

Scrambling around for Brighton/Coventry reserve wingers is just such a scattergun approach for me.

Markelo will probably be a force in the Highland toffee Barrs Irn Bru Mickey Mouse conference kick about down the park league.
Serious question and it gets thrown about often but what league do we think the big 2 😂 in Scotland would comfortably top the league. I don’t even think they'd conquer the Championship.

Rangers would win League 1, Celtic top end Championship but probably not winning it.

he's only got a year left on his contract, hasn't he?
so he either signs a new one, or we have to sell him. simples.

Whut?

You are stretching statements until they have no meaning ('virtually no minutes'), and your point seems to be that recruitment has been poor, which is just demonstrably wrong. I'm not sure how I'm avoiding that. We pissed the league. You don't do that with repeatedly underwhelming transfer windows.

Not every signing has to pull up trees, not every signing has to be automatic first choice, but they do need to bring something to the squad. The players you are talking about all do.

I don't know why poor recruitment for a promoted team is a hill you want to die on. It's a weird take.

“Your point seems to be”

Why address my repeatedly stated point when you can invent what it “seems to be” instead?

The only reason they did the moneyball way in the film is because they were skint

It's just thrown out there as a generic term without journalists actually understanding what it means.
"Team uses data to aid there scouting"

ITS MONEYBALL

That the two windows prior to this were underwhelming? Backing up a general belief that our recruitment isn't up to standard? That?

I have; repeatedly. I disagree with the assessment, and have stated why numerous times. The fact that we will be lining up against Arsenal in a few weeks kind of defeats any argument you make on this subject.

Your direct statement of '£13m spent with no impact on the first team' is demonstrable bollocks. KKH and Woolfenden, whilst not first choices, both had a positive impact last season, giving us competent strength in depth. I don't know how many times, and in how many different ways, I need to say that. Disagree all you like, but I'm clearly addressing your arguments.

Both would end up mid table prem minimum in a few seasons. They're massive clubs hamstrung by the league they're in. If they were allowed to move into the English league system they would suddenly have a huge influx of cash and would rocket up the leagues.

Yeh so would Ajax or Boca Juniors but they won't be joining either.

Ah an argument over the perceived quality and size of the big Scottish clubs. The only debate to appear more than Hamer re-signing.

This is what always seems to be missed by fans who say they would be fighting relegation etc

I don't think it gets missed. Drop any random big club into the English game where they'd make significantly more money and they'll do better is hardly a hot take. Completely irrelevant though as its not going to happen and in the reality in which they operate, Scottish football seems to get worse almost every year.
