Yes some gambles. However, we as fans contribute to these fees via our revenue. Admittedly Doug is fronting a huge amount but is about to get his reward hopefully

Yes id understand if none of our signings worked out, but the big signings have worked out.

Bassette was £2m supposedly. That's why we cant get a sale as we would lose money. Markelo £4m and we have yet to see what he's really like and I doubt anyone had heard of him before he came here

Brau was out of contract when he signed. As I understand it the money spent would be committed to a generous signing on fee and better salary than if he signed while under contract.

Markelo was a weird signing but might be useful next season if we go down, especially after a year out on loan. Oh well, they can’t all be winners.

Most clubs are using data led recruitment therefore the data will naturally lead to multiple clubs looking at the same player.

If we had signed Markelo this summer we would be saying good signing, we signed him earlier and gave him time to settle seems a bit mad to send him out on loan when we have such a small squad.
