If Labour wants/wanted to get elected it would be someone like her and tbh a female would be a good move IMO in spite of the nutty reversion to male populists.
Pragmatic wins the day for me.

What are the ONS number's like usually 2-3 times those tested?
Half term extended might be more fruitful and less disruptive.

It doesn't tally with R rate falling like that study suggested the other day.

Its weird. I’ll always try to play devils advocate but a ‘technical issue’ is not good enough in the current climate. Will keep an eye on hospital admissions etc but it feels to me that the numbers weren’t fitting with the narrative (hence a massive delay in releasing)

Thank fuck it was a backlog, 12k cases would of been a massive jump and worry, although I do belive we will be up with France and Spain soon enough.

there's been "backlogs" before and the data stays at the same level.

if it is just a backlog that would also mean that previous days awful figures are even worse

Cases above 2,000 here yesterday and it looks like masks will have to be worn at all times in public or on the spot fines of around €500. Already been rolled out in Rome but expected to be announced nationwide in the coming days.

Interesting article looking at why some outbreaks are much larger than others. Obviously just one persons opinion but worth a read.

This Overlooked Variable Is the Key to the Pandemic

It’s not R.

Interesting. Though without an actual world class track and trace system I don’t see how the measures would be different. We still don’t know what determines who will be a superspreader unless I missed it in the article.

Interesting. Same principle could be applied economically - using the mean average when the important bits are small clusters like the very rich and very poor.

Bit worrying really about the numbers. Looked like it was increasing much less than anticipated but it turns out the test and trace system is not as world beating as promised and boom. Here are the positive cases.

This is what happens when they decide what the story is first, then manipulate the stats to suit it.
We’re all being played for mugs here.

They have also now ‘leaked’ another policy to decide if it’s popular enough for implementing
