Match Thread Rotherham United FC - Coventry City Match Thread - Wednesday 25th Oct

Robins will clearly be under pressure if this continues. He's spent a lot of money and this is utter shite. I wouldn't be keen on chucking money at him in January if I'm Doug King right now.

Whoever that player @Saddlebrains said we were in for must surely be hoping his agent hasn't signed anything.

Thanks for incredible memories mark

if something doesn’t change in the next 3 games I’d look at making a change

I agree with the first part, but why do you say it's backfiring? Surely we have to wait until at least half way through the season.

It’s backfiring in the sense that although we knew we wouldn’t be competing for promotion I didn’t think we’d look this shite either

He’ll probably sign another winger - then criticise said winger for not being able to play centre back.. whilst bemoaning the fact we have no midfield

He always makes the wrong subs. The game was crying out for Sakamoto but the changes are always wrong and too late. No desire to win in the team, soft as shit.

He waited 20 minutes to try something.

Then expects things to make a difference with 10 minutes to go.

He has zero clue how to react during games.

We've lost 4 in 13 , drew too many and are struggling to get going ..

I get the frustrations and some of the signings are struggling to settle , but come on fellas
Lost twice against teams with makeshift defences without troubling the scorers. Cannot see past a relegation battle.

Was certainly crying out for a change on 60 at 0-0 and at 1-0 you’ve got to do something to try and turn the game
Very disappointing

Dasilva had a mare all game! Most of Roverums attacks come from his errors. When Roverum matched up to city's formation Robbins should have take Dasilva off and bought on Bidwell and go to a back 4 and play 3 up front.. did you notice when we were starting to keep them penned in and getting corners the goal keeper decides to go down for 4 minutes and kills the momentum . The powers that be need to start looking into this shit the players are up to!!!

In fairness to Godden, how often did we actually play him in?

Da Silva seemed to have the run of the pitch first half, but second half I think Rotherham changed formation. From that point forward, until Saka and COH got on, we looked useless (and full of nerves) imho.

Such is life, I think we can learn from this, not least in what we do from corners.

Hopefully we'll see more of Saka and COH now, God knows we need to see a bit more life on the pitch!

Ok I take that back haha I love the bloke

but something isn’t right

we look a poor side

why isn’t Liam Kitching playing?
Cause Binks has been playing well ?
Want to see more of Kitching though as he is a leader and looked promising in brief appearances so far

The worry is, two of our three wins were against an embarrassing QPR team and a Middlesbrough side who, at the time, were getting torn to pieces every game.

Ayari played him through first half and he kindly waited for the defender to take the ball off him.

We made a very vey intentional decision at the end of the season to sign ‘prospects’ on long term deals instead of using the loan market.

I don’t think the goal was ever to be a promotion competing side in years 1 and 2. The problem is it’s backfiring so spectacularly we might be fighting for league 1 promotion instead.

Spot on. And those 'prospects' may well be worth much less than we paid for them by the time we sell them. I would much rather we only had Simms and Wright on loan.

Just left the ground after a thoroughly depressing night. Clueless static build ups , no end product and some terrible defending. Only bright spot was COH coming on. At least he looked up for it.

Thought I’d turn the phone in on to cheer me up, can’t even win that one tonight 😂

Godden was slipped through twice but was just so slow to get on to it, one from Eccles and one from Ayari.
