Fuck them. They’ve made their bed, they can lie in it. It will soon be their grave and they must see it coming too, which just adds to the bizarreness of it all. Far too much toxicity in it now, seems the gloves are off. The local fans should be met with nothing but hostility. Fans doubting Boddy, why would he be so reckless and completely jeopardise everything?

He is trying to find a positive wasps spin. Got to earn that £££

I know and I really shouldn't tag him for the nth time asking the same question but I'm just so frustrated that we have someone on here who claims to be a city fan and had the power to try and change things but doesn't. Look at Pete and Mark, they have achieved so much more than the local press in getting answers, it all stinks to high heaven

It is crazy. To think money is enough to make you actively work agaisnt the club you love every day of the year. Everyone at CET should be ashamed

@Tom Leach any comment? Surely as a Coventry city fan you will be pressuring your employer to ask wasps to drop the NDA (maybe even help run a campaign about it ;) )
Pigs might fly. Wasps get a free ride . CCFC ownership get challenged on everything (often rightly so ).
But a completely inconsistent approach to the 2 clubs.

That's exactly it, it's the inconsistency that boils my blood so much. The telegraph ran a very successful campaign when we were in Northampton to get us back and they very rightly pressured sisu at every turn. But you are right, they will do fuck all and when wasps refuse to drop the NDA they will say that they have every right to and not question it

I see Simon G is getting very defensive when people are asking him questions.

I guess the BBC won't let him make fake accounts and spread loads of shit when the heat is on him.

Either they are very complicit and acting dumb or they are genuinely thick as fuck and can't see how bad a job they actually do.

It's only my 2nd post on here but long time lurker. I've been going up the city since 1946 when my great grandad first carried me there on his shoulders after a 24 hour shift in the mines. I remember when I was hanging off a floodlight when we beat Notts County 4-1 in '55 in front of 50,000 cov fans but you couldn't tell which team was which because it was all in black and white. Anyway, I've had enough of the politics and lies from SISU. Even though i've had a season ticket every year since season tickets were invented (except for Sh*tfields) I'm jacking it in. SISU should just do a deal so we can all watch cov in cov. Away games only for me this year.
Dear Sir, As someone who remembers well both the 1954-55 and 1955-56 seasons at Highfield Road, I wish to rectify six inconsistencies, doubts or untruths contained in the testimony above: 1 - You say this was your second post. I can find no evidence of a first post. 2 - although it is true that is a long time since 1946, it seems most unlikely if you are claiming that you have been lurking here for the past 74 years 3 - although rudimentary floodlights were first installed in 1953, they were not of a type that you could hang off. The floodlights on pylons in the corners of the ground were not installed until 1957. 4 - Coventry City didn't play against Notts County in 1955. It could not have been in the League as Coventry City were in the Third Division South between 1954 and 1956. Notts County were in the Second Divison at that time. it could not have been in the Cup since Coventry City went out in the first round on 19th November 1955 beaten at Highfield Road 0-1 by Exeter City. It could not have been in the League Cup since that competition did not commence until the 1960-61 season. 5 - not a single game at Highfield Road in 1955 was attended by 50,000 spectators. The record crowd at the ground was on 29 April 1967 when 51,455 watched the Second Division title decider against Wolverhampton Wanderers. This was over 6,000 more than the previous record set against Aston Villa in 1938. 6 - Season tickets for travel were invented in the nineteenth century and season tickets for football date back at least to the 1920s. If you did indeed have a season ticket in the 1920s when football season tickets were invented, I put it to you, that you, as a man already of mature years, had no legitimate business in 1955 to be carried on your elderly great grandfather's shoulders. In fact, I put it to you that you were not carried at all! This whole narrative is a fiction designed to mislead and deceive the goodly supporters of this club. I urge you to desist from writing a further dishonest post, you unspeakable lurker!

S. Holmes Esq

Postscript - readers may be intrigued to know how I saw through the dastardly untruths of this poster. It was his reference to the fact that you "could not tell which team was which as it was all in black and white". This was an admission that he had not actually been at this fictitious game in 1955 at all but had apparently been watching it on television instead. But the first football game to be televised at Highfield Road was not until after 1964 when the Match of the Day programme was first broadcast in black and white.

Sir, you are a liar and an humbug, and unfit to whirl a sky blue rattle. Post no more!

I think boddy is an honourable man and I have to say I am impressed with Joy since she has became more open in her dealings and wearing the sky blue dress and with her meeting Pete and Mark donating to the supporters fund I think we have turned a corner and hopefully they follow through with building the stadium and all is forgiven in my opinion at that point

That answers my question from when I was knee high to a grass hopper. Did people actually see things in black and white back in’t day? You were there but it was all in black and white so you couldn’t differentiate teams...

Is the memorial garden still there that would need to be dealt with in a respectful manner and an appropriate location found for it

I don’t get how they could do this to us

Because they can.

People seem to have forgotten Duggins when he was caught out bullshitting about a "condition" of the sale to Wasps not harming CCFC.

"Public opinion on their side" was his answer.

Asked again to produce the evidence, he simply responded: “I am happy to stand by what Gary and I have said.”

He added: “Public opinion is firmly on our side and will remain so.”

I've got a lot of time for Tom, seems a breath of fresh air to what's gone before.
Let's see if his paymasters allow him to do his job rather than rein him in so as not to upset their friends at Wasps.

If you have any affiliation with CCFC you should not give a penny to Wasps or take their free tickets. People need to pressure friends and work colleagues from Cov and Warwicks to not go and understand what they have done.

Proper Wasps fans from the south are excluded from this but the bandwagon 10k who turn up from Cov and surrounding areas need to understand they are paying the price for this city not having a major football club.

That's the thing, it will all be going through the editor.

Isnt the deadline a bit pointless though? They Initially said that we could return at anytime. Surely this is a bit sensationalist?

The deadline was to know for the start of the season.

It's not really sensationalist to point out Wasps knew full well but just made things difficult up until that deadline ;)
