Match Thread Tottenham Hotspur vs Coventry City (A) - Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Mon 19th October (8pm KO) (49 Viewers)

A point would be a great result. Keep it tight 0-0 for as long as possible-crowd will turn and ultimately our chance will come. First goal obviously crucial in these games and pressure is all on them. 1-1.

Odds on bet365 were 6/1 for city win they are now down to 9/2
Probably a few small bets affecting it

Will take a point now, but the best time to play them/potentially get a win.

If we play like we did vs Man City, then we should get a result.

Really hoping I make the 2nd last train back, as it's either half past midnight back or 3:30 back 🫩🫩🫩

Just seen this by a joker on their site............................ if only it comes true!!!!!

Just back from the future to save anyone the bother of watching tomorrow night:

32nd minute: OFF! Spurs defender Van Hecke shown a RED CARD for Denial of Goal Scoring Opportunity.

45+1: GOAL! Coventry! Cherif's speculative shot takes a wicked deflection off Van De Ven and rolls into the far corner.

HT: Spurs 0 Coventry 1

87th minute: PENALTY! SPURS! James Maddison earns Spurs first penalty since May 25 as he's fouled in the box.

88th minute: SAVED! Dominic Solanke's effort is palmed onto the post by Rushworth. Mathys Tel balloons the rebound over.

90+4: GOAL! Coventry. Rudoni on the break slots past a stranded Antonin Kinsky.

FT: Spurs 0 Coventry 2

If we win by 2/3 goals, we could see ourselves in the top half

We will score - I feel that Frank has installed a shoot on site attitude & don't be afraid to have a go - whether we can prevent them from scoring is another matter
Does “shoot on site” mean inside the stadium?

Most media think Maddison will play tonight, but should we worry too much about him, he hasn’t played since April and surely can’t/wont be match fit?

Think they will be too much tonight, they have been poor this season, but they played really well v Man Utd. Think they will end up comfortable winners, 3-0 to them. 1-0 at HT then two more late goals to seal it.
They have been similar to Newcastle. Control the midfield for long periods, but missing someone who can put the ball in the back of the net, and also can be slow in defence.

Their supporters knew they would give us a tonking. Then we played Newcastle 😂

They controlled the game against Newcastle at their place. Newcastle had 2 shots on target and won 0-2. 9/2 is massive for a side who hasn't won a game yet against a side who has won their last 2.

He has come on as sub against Everton, Liverpool, Villa and Manchester United in their last 4 games averaging about 20 minutes a game. Maybe they will get half a game out of him.

We need to frustrate them early doors and get their crowd to turn on them
