Match Thread Tottenham Hotspur vs Coventry City (A) - Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Mon 19th October (8pm KO) (18 Viewers)

I'm surprised at leased one of Gboho or Loum aren't on the bench given the only sub option for the wings is EMC who looked like he was carrying a knock last week and BTA was blowing from 70 onwards (understandably because he was everywhere).

We've then got Onyeka, Torp & Hamer on the bench for 2 midfield spots.
i’d imagine we would go to a back 5

My boss is a spurs season ticket holder and i have won tickets from him to go into the hospitality for this one. I am really looking forward to it, he says if we get to half time 0-0 then their fans will turn on them
Lads, it’s Tottenham - they’ll start moaning if they’re not 3-0 up in the first quarter of an hour, been that way for decades.

Think he’d play Hamer on the wing

No Simms either - whatever your view on him, the man management of him has been poor.

Lot on Cherifs shoulders; starting in the prem, away from home in a massive stadium against probably the best players he’s played against. Let’s hope he’s as confident as is made out.

Thought the one that might drop out was EMC but Sakamoto is a bit of a risk. Sure, he'll work his nuts off and help out defensively but think he may find the physicality a bit much from the start. Think he works better off the bench where the tiredness evens it out a bit. Still not sure Grimes is the best option in the middle, especially away from home, but he was never going to get dropped. Got my reservations about 4ATB away from home too.

Glad to see KKH back on the bench but no Loum or Gboho isn't going to do anything for the rumours.

I think tonight we'll need to survive a bit of an onslaught for the first 15-20 mins by hook or by crook and then I think we'll see the natives get restless and start barracking the team. If we don't manage that it could be a hard evening though.

Awonyi would be ahead of Simms anyway

Simms Is on the bench

Gboho really pissed Lampard off in the Newcastle game I feel. Tuna not in last two squads. If they want to get in they’ve got to show something. Cash spent means nothing. In Gboho’s case the due diligence seems absent.

Cherif with his pace or Simms with his hold up play?

We will need to hit on the counter. It's a game for pace up front. Maybe Simms towards the end again.

You'd like to think we'd have done some due diligence on their character and we must have known they're not professional or not hard working (if that's what the issues even are).

FL keeps surprising with his selections, hopefully it will be like Forest and De Zerbi will be looking like Glasner at the end.

It may have never shown up before.

The trouble is the further up the pyramid you go, the harder it is to find good characters perhaps

Think that was a Dr Claire thing!

Mate we spent 30 million on 2 players so we can let them sit in the stands while we use championship players. Really isn't that smart
