Time for Lampard to go? (4 Viewers)

The only thing I’d say is we looked pretty shit and won the league. We don’t play flowing football under Lampard we play effective and streaky football. We might well stay up winning two and losing four every six games. Of course we might also be crap, but it’s harder to tell than with most managers.

Was like signing for the fans. Don't get it at all.

I feel like it was Doug's first experience of being done over in a transfer and he wanted to get revenge.
More accounting for the period leading to promotion in my opinion.

You forgot about Yakubu then? And Darius Henderson?

No as at the time there was a need for them, they were just shit

We didn't need to spend £6m on an overweight CM just because we have a chant about him

We looked shit and won the league scoring only 97 times 👍🏻

OK. Countering the drivel.
He does know his best eleven for each match. That’s clearly why he plays them. They may not be good enough but that’s a different matter.
Subs. In reality he’s made the right ones. The fact they’re possibly not good enough is a different matter.
He’s obviously not freezing out £30m of talent. Why would he. Just needs a grown up recognition that we couldn’t afford straight up prem talent and had to buy potential we could develop. Which is clearly what we’re doing.
Hamer comments. Embarrassing.
Needs to change and change fast. Yes, I think he now needs to say to the players that they now need to win. That’s how easy it is to change things and for the life of me I don’t know why he’s making it so complicated.
He is clearly freezing out 30 plus million of talent. They are either on the bench, or out the squad. His subs have been dreadful.

We definitely weren't shite, but we are now..True?

Dear Frank,
As a world class midfielder please conduct a review of our midfield.
That's the part of our team that particularly needs addressing. If we are playing a two have we got the right two ?
Should we be playing a triangle as we did pre season v Monaco ? With Frank Onyeka breaking up play at the peak of triangle & generally giving us more pressure & midfield prescence

Clearly Matt & Caleb are being outplayed.
Leave it in your capable hands.
PUSB

CovV

the biggest question on hamer is why we signed him at all - he was blowing out his arse in his 5 minutes on the pitch
Yep I think a lot of us saw that, nowhere near fit enough despite what FL said in the pre match

Who realistically would you want in to replace him ?

We can survive but people won’t like the reality of how.

Lampard and Dean Austin out. Thomas Frank in.

Grimes/EMC/MVE only used as subs. Yirenki dropped until his performances vastly improve.

Torp should be hammering Lampard’s door, he offers far more than Matty fucking Grimes.

Torps not the answer. Too lightweight.
MG doesn't deserve an "F" in his name either.

Say what now?

You don't win, dominate, actually, the league by 'looking pretty shit'. What's true is we didn't really dominate teams for 90 minutes. We didn't have to, and football generally is moving away from that retain possession at all costs style anyway.

You don't half say some weird things sometimes.

It will in the range of 6 to 12 points from 30 available or 10 games. Farke bangs on about a point per game in the PL so not that far away TBH. Survive this season and we will grow

Who said anything about possession? You e said yourself there we didn’t dominate teams like you’d expect a title winning side to so you’re saying the same weird stuff yourself.

Winning the championship doesn’t meant you’ve completed football FFS

That's the frustrating thing about losing both the Fulham and Hull games. Had we drawn both 0-0 no one would have come out the ground celebrating, but we would have been on 8 points from 8 games, currently we would be sitting in 12th place above both Fulham and Hull. Now we have to beat Sunderland to just be on 9 from 9.

We’re not shit…ask forest and Newcastle…we’ll beat a lot better teams than Fulham and we’ll lose to a lot worse…keep in touch with teams at the bottom and add a couple more in January…

Wtf?

"we didn’t dominate teams like you’d expect a title winning side to so"

I don't think I'd necessarily expect that (though obviously you see it sometimes). I'd expect a title winning side to convert its periods of dominance into results, which is exactly what we did.

No-one mentioned possession; the point was that the game is moving from a dominate the ball at all costs style to a more pragmatic one, which we saw with how we played to enormous success last season.

I don't know how you've gone from that to thinking we 'looked a bit shit'. Pick your phrasing better.

Point is we didn’t look great then look poor. We looked about the same and sometimes picked up results and sometimes didn’t. So you can’t tell if we’ve fallen off or are about to win three in a row.

Personally I never thought we looked head and shoulders above the league like we did winning L1.

Hardly surprising though, look how often people turned on Robins, can't be arsed to look if any of the posters are the same.

a lot of people don’t like Lampard and almost resent his success. It’s more those who never wanted him ready to plunge the axe in him

We were miles ahead of everyone in the league bar Southampton and Ipswich but we were still ahead of both of them.

Am very much enjoying these replies saying “we weren’t what you said except for the bits where we were what you said”. I don’t think we were miles ahead of Boro or Hull either TBH. As in when we played them we didn’t look miles better. Before FP pops up to say we won the league again.

We've made the fewest tackles in the league and by a good margin. Man City are 19th for tackles made and they have 30% more possession a game.
Yes, we are just not putting ourselves around. We have had 8 yellow cards in 8 games, only 1 across the "must win" games against Hull & Fulham. Can anybody say we put in a "hard" tackle across the game yesterday to let Fulham know we are "here"? We are just "too nice" and it has to change, although looking at the players we have I am not sure we can.

I dread burning through managers more than anything else, its always been a recipe for disaster for us, Im really surprised there are others who dont see it that way.
