Very surprised Allen starts. Even more surprised Jones on the bench as he's yet to even play an U23. Didn't think he'd get back before Pask. Trying to work out the formation as looks like a back four. None of the 1st team CB's even on the bench.

Eccles DCM with Allen and O'Hare slightly ahead of him with a three pronged attach of Hiwula left, Baka centre and Kast right?

Kept some talent on the bench in case it goes tits up.

Seems about right, gives the non-regulars some playing time and a chance to impress.

Great to see Jodi Jones name back on the team sheet. Can't begin to imagine how hard it must have been for him.

Not sure what the plan is with Bremang. Clearly not in Robins immediate or short term plans as he can’t get a place on the bench in the Checkatrade when we’ve got a lack of striking options - a player who’s a first year scholar is preferred.

It's part of the game isn't it - you're always looking for that next bright young thing and sometimes doing that you forgot the previous bright young things you were developing. Will Bapaga end up being under-utilised in the future because the coaching team have spotted someone else in a younger group they want to bring through?

Why you suprised Allen plays ? He’s been playing under 23 football & came on at Sunderland this is perfect game time for him he will replace Shipley soon I think

Gonna be difficult for him with Kelly, Walsh, Shipley and Westbrooke already there and Allen yet to come in. Also seems like MR looks to Eccles beyond that before looking at Young. But in games such as this he should be given an opportunity to see if he's anywhere near ready and worth persevering with on a longer basis.
Think he's going to be deployed as a winger

Reckon he’s just included to be around the team. No chance of coming on

I was thinking this too, just to get a feel for being in the match day squad. Ease him in. Help with the nerves etc.

I'm going to be a bag of nerves just watching the guy whenever he returns, can't imagine how he must be feeling!

Anyone there/watching - what’s the formation?

Based on the players, it looks a definite back four and potentially 3-3 ahead of it? Or Eccles/Allen as a 2, Kast/O’Hare/Hiwula as a 3 and Baka up front?

Pretty inexperienced back line (even Mason to an extent), but all are good enough individually and you’d have thought Drysdale and Williams would have a good understanding.

It looks like the same formation with 1 up front and 1 either side as we started the season with.
