Correct - Rudoni tracked the runner, but didn’t inconvenience him. JDS did what all our inside defenders have done since Frank arrived and protected the space (watch Thomas, Grimes and Kitching do it every game). it’s hilarious that JDS is being given the blame.

Not blaming JDS! Just saying what happened, yes I agree all the defenders run back to defend the space! Does my head in especially when pressing the attacker would create a panicked cross.

Time and again he holds his ground and they say that he has fouled the opposition, none more so than when he took on the fullback and got past him to the byline and was just heading off with the ball and the fullback hits the deck and the same again! Something not right here if you ask me.

Once the player has clearly got the run on Rudoni JDS has to engage him. The three players you mention are central defenders and a central midfielder FYI

I’m talking about the player defending the inside channel - they defend the space under Frank and have done for 12 months. This is irrespective of the number on their back or where they line up for the kick off.

I've been reading through a lot of this thread. People have the right to state their grievances of course, and it was a disappointing result and more disappointing that we couldn't finish off 10 men. I don't think it was as bad as some people are making out though.

We were good in the first half and could easily have been 2 up with a bit of luck. We didn't take our chances, a few players were off the pace (although Wright wasn't one of them, had a good game) and a few decisions went against us. All of that doesn't mean we're shit or we've thrown it all away or that we aren't going up. It may end up being the start of a downfall but equally we might win the next 3 and be back on track.

We're going to lose and draw a few along the way. I hope Lampard and the team can stay calm and bounce back. PUSB

Unfortunately, it tends to favour clubs like Ipswich and Southampton who have better back up players.

There was no excuse for not winning that at all.

First half, we were not bad, and it looked a matter of time before we'd score. After the red they sat in, so it was always going to be difficult. But again against a low block we looked ponderous and lacked vision. Then after getting into the lead, to surrender that through complacency was unforgivable.

There should be no talk of bottling it, but we can't have complacency like last night again. They thought they'd won.

Yep, in the few minutes before they scored you could see that we’d eased off, thought we’d done enough. It resulted in Rushworth under a bit of pressure kicking the ball into touch. We cdidn’t have the guile to break them down. However injuries/illness haven’t helped. A win on Saturday followed by a week’s break should allow us to get players back and put us back on track.

Once again I don't disagree but wanting derby to beat Boro a few weeks ago just made sense for a city fan it's as simple as that.

Heard various comments about a Rugby Supporters coach being attacked last night and a Cov fan on his own being attacked on the ring way by a bunch of teenagers.

I walked back to the car via the Blackpool Road and there was a couple of groups of lads waiting on Moor Park who were encouraging children to throw missiles in the direction of the away end which was pretty pathetic. Got to start them young I guess.
