I see even Burroughs hasn't been starting/playing much in recent weeks.
Bit disappointing players going out and not getting game time.
Disappointing but not the end of the world.

Look at Harry Kane's patchy loan record before he broke into the Spurs team. He hardly pulled up trees at Orient, Milwall, Norwich or Leicester.

It's as much about being in and around a first team setup all season as anything else. They need to get their heads down and get back in to their respective sides. If they're not being played there must be a reason.

Didn't say it was the end of the world but yes a large part of it is the overall experience, but it's not one or the other. They need game time as much as they need to be in a first time environment.

But Kane had very good loan experiences at Orient and Millwall. He only joined those teams in January and played a large amount of the games from that point. He's also the exception rather than the rule when it comes to loans after that.

At the moment 2 of the 3 aren't even getting in match day squads and the other is being used as a substitute utility player. If they were going through dips in form or in Burroughs case pushing for a particular position then fair enough but there would be no need for concern.

But Grimsby have just brought in another player to compete for a starting role isn't a good sign. Cashman not even getting on as a sub anymore seems a regression and Burroughs needs to not suffer the fate of so many other young players in never nailing down a position.

Grimsby local paper suggesting bapaga could be sent back in Jan as there are now 3 in front of him.. including maguire-drew.

Really not working out for him there after a promising start. He played 70mins in Grimsby's reserves this afternoon. Scored in a 6-1 win over what looks like a Walsall U18 team.

Scunthorpe let in 4 with Billson on the bench.

Started their season as number 1 and got injured first time. He's been back on the bench for about 5 games, time to get him in that 11

Yeah on paper, seems really odd they haven't thrown him in when they're getting tonked. Reading their twitter their GK was at fault for at least 2 of the 4 from last week.
Don't know how many keepers they have but loaned one in after the appointment of Kieth Hill in November ,so change of manager may not have helpful.

Apologies didn't know what thread to use instead of starting a new one and as its a loan, Just heard on sky the transfer show that Chelsea can't recall maatsen as he has played a certain amount of games here still waiting for confirmation though

If they offered us 50k for him to go back he would be gone.

I think that’s if he has played over 50% that figure was mentioned on Talksport last week but the “experts” on here said it was bollox.

It is "bollox" in that it isn't a standard rule across all loan contracts. It may well be in some players loan deals. But it isn't a defined rule. Each loan deal is bespoke.

They gave him permission to play in the cup on Saturday which is a sure sign they don't want him back anyway.

Could be a decent move for him. At the moment he seems as far as ever from making it with us and really needs to kick start his career and live up to some of the promise he has shown intermittently here.

Really don't know what went wrong for this lad
I thought he'd become a top class player
Hope this works out for him
Hope it works out for him too. In the interviews I've seen since he's been here he seems like a really nice, quiet lad - always felt that reflected on the pitch where he seemed a bit meek for a CB.
Compare that to someone like Ostigard who wanted to dominate on the pitch and is vocal and driven off it in terms of his career path. Can it be just down to a mix of ambition, drive and personality?

From the comments on their Twitter seems a lot of Grimsby’s fans are frustrated with the manager for not giving Bapaga more of a chance

Can understand why. He went from being their secret weapon ripping teams to shreds to not featuring at all. Unless something's happened behind the scene, and one Grimsby fan on twitter said rumours of Bapaga turning up late to training on occasions, it seems an odd decision. There was that month he won something like 5 penalties, scored 3 goals and got a few assists.

Off topic slightly...
Could someone tell me which players are out of contract this summer?
Many thanks in advance.
