Video removed. It had a small segment recorded by one man and men attacking the vehicle. What I didn’t realize at the time is that more footage was taken which suggests the incident was far worse.

I hope there are no fatalities.

The police haven't said so in their statement, so the media are covering their own arses in case it turns out not to be the driver.

Seems like a pretty chaotic situation all round given the amount of booze involved.

Sounds sensible to be honest. We know how quickly these things can escalate.

Unusual for the police to come out and say the person is white, British.

Considering that people were howling with anger at the police not immediately releasing the ethinicity of the Southport guy this is probably a wise move.

Literally every time something like this happens there's about three or four people on here who spring into action and imply a certain motivation for this before anyone has a clue what's actually happened.

Possibly but it is one hell of a reaction to be swerving into people in that manner unless in a state of drug induced mania. Needs locking up for a long long time
