Liverpool Car Incident (1 Viewer)

Don't follow the account but the video is of interest

I thought there were 2 stages. Bloke hit some pedestrians, people unsurprisingly got mad and attacked the car then he had another go. From some of the awful footage it seems clear in the second wave he was intent on hitting people rather than just escaping

What’s clear is starmer has released the information quickly this time that’ll be the two tier argument
Unless it’s a police matter of course …..

Well, Starmer hasn't done anything. The police have, but get your point.

27 taken to hospital it seems with up to 4 seriously injured. 4 were trapped under the car.

Just seen that there's two seriously injured now, and adult and child.

Hopefully they pull through.

4 it seems are in a very serious condition

47 were injured with 27 going to hospital. I was in that area recently - I can’t see how the car got through into it.

Considering that people were howling with anger at the police not immediately releasing the ethinicity of the Southport guy this is probably a wise move.

Literally every time something like this happens there's about three or four people on here who spring into action and imply a certain motivation for this before anyone has a clue what's actually happened.
Police are in a no win situation now.

Next time there's a terrible incident like this, what do they do?
They now have to release the ethinicity because if they don't people will say it's obvious.

It's a shit position for the chief constable to be in.

And unfortunately we're now going to have to use emergency services vehicles to block off roads around where these events are being held.

Very sad all round, thankfully on this occasion it looks like there were no fatalities, but a couple of fans were seriously injured.

What a shit way to end what should of been a great celebration.

It is indeed a shame that the police now have to cater to those who hop up and down with excitement to blame it on their target demographic of choice whenever these things happen.

Thankfully no fatalities yet, let us hope those injured make a full recovery and and none of the injured end up being life-changing.

However, no different on here, albeit somewhat in reverse and some of the posts are no better than the race baiters who always jump to conclusions regarding ethnicity or religion. Crazy to think first thoughts were not for the victims but would rather try to be ironic about it being a brit. They'll get a few likes I imagine, so all good 😞

Pete the most hypocritical of all who pretends to be caring and religious when it suits and protective of prisoners rights yet the first to dive in. Embarrassing.

I'll not get into a to and fro with those who try to justify it in the same way I didn't jump in on the Southport one or the others, but I think a bit more respect before posting after these type of events wouldn't go amiss. I accept people are emotional and it is a forum to share views, but if you're angry then don't post immediately or pause before submitting.

I didnt with Grendel when he posted about jockey's dying instead of horses. I regret not waiting and still completely disagree with him, but in hindsight wouldn't have responded how I did.

Police say he has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, dangerous driving offences and driving while unfit through drugs. He remains in custody where he is being interviewed.

There were 65 casualties, she says, with specialist officers providing support to the victims of the incident.

Extensive CCTV inquiries are being carried out to establish the movements of the Ford Galaxy car, she says.

Not sure if it’s been said yet but is the guy who police have wrestled to the floor in the footage the culprit? Certainly doesn’t look like the guy caught in the drivers seat.

custody the safest place for him. If they'd let the crowds get hold of him I doubt he'd still be breathing. Drugs too then, utter c**t!

I thought the guy wrestled was one of those trying to get to the driver. If he was then hopefully no coppers assaulted and they let him go as actions understandable. One of the police got in the way of the car too trying to save others. Really selfless act against someone hellbent on destruction.

While it's obviously a nice thing to do, personally I don't expect people on a football discussion forum to preface their posts with thoughts and prayers about the victims here, everyone can see it's an awful situation.

Personally I find the race baiters to be very sad, especially the ones who have to pretend they weren't even trying it when the facts end up proving their theories wrong.

Totally agree, although I find those reveling when it isn't, equally nauseating.

My first thought was they were stopping that guy from attacking the car. Guy in the car in the footage, unless very blessed, doesn’t look 53.

They only had to declare the ethnicity to stop the nonsense conspiracy theories that X feeds on.

Yes we all know that.

But the issue then is, what do they say when the inevitable happens again and it's not a white person?

They just say "suspect" is held in custody

Tbf he has a point, because when they do say that, it will inevitably lead to more of the same online problem. I know they wanted to quell speculation, but it does have consequences for the future and I think it would have been better saying nothing and let the race baiters hang themselves as usual. The difficulty they had was in the geography that makes the statement understandable being close to Southport. Had it been anywhere else, eg one of the London parades, I don't think they'd have made the same statement.

The police's job is to maintain order, and as much as people will be curious and want maximum transparency, the police will release as much or as little information as they deem necessary.
