Hi,

I'm a Derby County Fan and was interested to know how James Bailey was getting on with you? I've seen that he's been starting and results have turned around for you since he joined, but was curious as to whether he has made a difference?

Personally I think he's a really good player, and believe Clough should have kept hold of him, but feel that he's a player who tends to go un-noticed, and goes about his job quietly.

Glad to see Callum Ball has done well recently, he's only young so inconsistency is inevitable, but hopefully after a rough start he'll start to bed in nicely.

Would love to know your views (particularly on Bailey)!

Thanks

Seems a bright young players, has been bright without being spectacular in my opinion. Looks composed on the ball spreads it about well just needs a bit more steel IMO

Bailey has done well, not brilliant just well. Probably one of those players who you don't notice an goes about his work quietly an efficiently

Ball was brilliant last game I have seen him, has 2 goals in 2 starts now I believe

I've been pretty impressed so far and had heard a bit about this guy before he came on our radar. He tracks back, breaks up the play and puts his foot in. Its the stuff that every midfield needs but isn't the glamorous stuff that gets the rave reviews. Take him out though and our midfield would be weaker. I believe he's a good passer of the ball (maybe you can confirm this?) and that is one side to his game we haven't seen much of yet and I hope he starts using the ball a bit more than he has done so far.

Thanks for getting back! Hope to hear more views!

Sounds like we're on the same wavelength with Bailey, I think he has a very un-complicated game, where he prioritises doing the simple things right, which can often gel the team together, and get them passing a bit more.

The performance of Ball the other day is very interesting, because I would never usually associate him with being a strong passer, his physical size was usually his strong point. As long as he's doing well I'm not too fussed though!

I'd agree with the suggestion of being a good passer. He seems to have the ability to pass the ball nicely both long and short, but rarely do you see him attempting the 'Hollywood/Glamourous' balls. This may be something Clough has drilled into him (that I don't necessarily agree with), as he very much concentrates on doing the simple things right.

When seeing him play, both in reserves and first team, he often looks to spread it out wide though, particularly to full backs, which can be very effective, and something he appears to enjoy doing. So yes, I would say he was a strong passer of the ball

If you had a team of players doing the simple things right you'd certainly win more than you lose!

"Football is a simple game complicated by idiots"

Bailey has been just what we needed.
As said before, he just gets on with it and does a fair amount of the tracking back and unspectacular stuff.
Thats just the type of player that we needed tbf.

Is he a player that Clough would be looking to offload ?

Fook me, you lot are like a broken record.

Forget about Keogh and ask the poor bloke how that centre back we sold to Derby is doing instead. His name escapes me at the moment, but I would much rather hear about him than that flippin Richard Keogh!!

Hi Seth!

I think they'll come into their element more as we play more games but so far I've been very impressed!

Honest opinion from you though, do you think Clough will want to keep them or can we possibly look to taking them on perminantly do you think?

From what i've seen of Bailey, he looks accomplished on the ball and has good anticipation. I do think our young Conor Thomas will be more effective in this league though. Looking forward to him being fit again.

I hope you're looking after Keogh. How's he doing?

How's Martin Keown getting on?

I don't think he's coming back.
Shame.
I was going to ask him how Richard Keogh was doing.
