Yes you are right. This latest link to the Ghana lad is not in of itself the make or break signing at all and we are for me 3 short still..LB LW LCB. And we need to sped good money in those areas. Arguably need an AM depending where we are using Torp.

What the 3 signings we have made thus far show (im excluding Rushworth and Onyeka as we had them last year so knew all about them) is we are recruiting the right way, i.e young talents with room to develop them.

But we need to temember these are young guys who are still developing and when they have dips in form fans shouldnt stsrt singing what a waste of money etc. Hence why Kitching thomas Lati Sakamoto Eccles if they stay have to be up to the job as they are senior pros.

My personal opinion is we drop another 15/20 million on a striker and a left back

We then use the loan market for another CB. Bring Hamer in for 6 or 7 million, but that money will be mostly made of outgoings i feel

The money for Sheaf was an absolute no brainer, and his fitness record the rest of the season makes it look even better business than it was. The only real problem was the timing being too late to line up a replacement CM.

As for the remainder, left back, striker and another CB I'd agree are priorities, but ideally one of these should have more PL experience than we have in the group at the moment. There's nobody yet who you'd say really knows the division.

It’s the same people who have been complaining about our transfers that will attack the players first too. You can get ready for “ god Allmenda makes Woolf look fast”, “ Rushworths not interested since he got the big contract”, “Burnley have had our pants down on Loum” etc etc and of course “Lampard is raging because he wanted Matty James on loan” 🤣

Not really. Wright out for a year, no sign of EMC and JDS starting the season at LB with Kitching LCB
 
Coming back to this. 8 days until Arsenal, still no new LB + ST.............

Yep agreed. If we don't win at home to those it could be a long season as I expect them to be rock bottom for pretty much all of it.

The Arsenal, and Man City game as well to a certain extent for me is just a 'Right, wow we are here now' - Unless we get humiliated I am not really too fussed what happens, just go and enjoy the day and the experience

Hull however has the feel of a really big game two matches into the season, if we can get ourselves up and running nicely either side of two games we are likely to lose I don't think anyone will complain at that
 
If it helps I know that the Rushworth deal was all signed and concluded 3 days before it was officially announced …..

It might be frustrating for fans but the club are keen to maximise the announcement opportunities fully.

I hate that we have Hull at home as our first game back in the Prem. It’s a shit opener and very high pressure as we really can’t afford to lose.

Wish it had been Newcastle or Brentford or someone like that.

Assume it was given as an 'apology' for sending us to Arsenal and Man City either side of it. I'd rather they have swapped the venues instead.
 
What’s the obsession with the Arsenal game? It’s the ideal opener as were expected to get absolutely nothing. Effectively just gives us more time to be ready. As long as we’ve got a LB in before the end of the window we’ve had a good one. Talk of a striker is hopeful but I don’t see it without 1 or 2 going out

Because it would be nice to put in a good showing and be at least competitive not get arse raped 6 nil first game and leather everyone's confidence

This could come back to bite me on the arse but I genuinely don’t think Arsenal score enough goals to batter us 6-0

I’d be more concerned of a hiding if we were playing Citeh first

That may happen tomorrow evening. If we get routinely done down our left side and habe a repeat of last pre season vs them i think there will be meltdown if no signings are made urgently to address the obvious areas
 
More important we get the right players than when we get them I think
We can’t do what Sunderland and Ipswich have and claim to be doing things our way

17th is still the aim

Yeah Arsenal and City are free hits, we ‘should’ have enough to beat Hull. As long as they are in and ready to go by Brighton.

Nah we're not there yet and whether you think Ipswich are chucking shit and the wall or not, which I do a bit, they are still pushing themselves ahead of us with their spending. We need to be smart with these last few. If we could use loans for the likes of Mudryk and Abraham we'd be laughing.
