If it’s real they need a 6oclock call and banging up.

It is a dangerous world we live in where "trial by social media" exists. People commenting without actually looking at what happened. Of course from the video you can't tell what was said and the lad who tried to nick stuff should have his wrists slapped, but that video was shared on multiple platforms implicating young kids who weren't doing anything wrong.

In certain European countries it is illegal to upload videos of people without their consent (other than when they are clearly background and not the focus). Sometimes I think the laws here are slack and people can have their lives ruined just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time and their faces going viral with false statements

I thought watching that I could see a lot more than one person walking out with things. Wasn’t even the shop lifting that annoyed me so much - was the bullying behaviour that you think would be left in the playground

A big part of that is how strong the workers rights are. They're taught it from an early age at school and college. If they have a good enough reason to go on strike they just need permission from the Gendarmes and local Mayor. Piss the farmers off and the country comes to a standstill. They just block the motorways, and if cold they make bonfires on the road to keep warm....

That's the big difference. And you will most probably find people committing this sort of crime couldn't afford to. The UK court system is mainly for the rich or stupid who want to argue about a foot of land that could cost them their home if they lose.

As another poster says, we need a halfway solution between what we have and France has. It's completely unfair that innocent people who just happened to be on the same coach and go into the same shop (including children) have their faces plastered all over social media because of one or two people. Where, the vast majority of people won't watch the full video, they will just jump to a a conclusion and after a two second glance make up their mind that anyone in the picture is "100% Guilty" with some going as far to name people. That is completely wrong in my opinion. It has the potential to wreck lives, cost jobs etc.

I've travelled with City on some of the unofficial coaches with some less than law abiding characters. Does that make me guilty just for being there?

We kind of do but it's not enforced as much.

When I have worked for various retail companies in back office roles etc, we got a lot of requests for CCTV footage and were advised by legal that we couldn't give anyone including people in the video any of the footage without the permission of everyone that appears in it due to GDPR and the "reasonable" steps to protect data etc (which a persons likeness is).

I guess the same law applies to small shop keepers but they just don't care as it would probably take someone to make a GDPR complaint and no one likely will.

Although the original link to this footage appeared to have been removed last time I saw a link.

Well as I said on the other thread the police themselves can and will enforce a ban if they believe they can tie it to the game.

I haven't said any differently. What I have pointed out is the lack of action taken on those who share what is caught on CCTV. What happens the vast majority of the time is they get a warning and take it down.
