I get people are impatient and want signings, but some of the talk on here is embarrassing.

In 8 and a half years we've gone from outside the play offs in League 2 and staring down the barrel of football oblivion, to looking forward to a seat at the top table for the first time in 25 years. At one nil down to Mansfield with 10 men, no amount of alcohol or trippy drugs in the world make this believable.

The best play off semi final away performance and night you'll ever have, followed by a comfortable Wembley win.

Winning League One at a canter in Birmingham.

Reaching the play offs twice in the hardest league in the world.

Beating United at Wembley but being robbed of an FA Cup final.

Finally getting rid of SISU.

Buying the CBS and having our own home.

More great days and games than we can remember.

Spending £40 million plus and about to sign 2 of the best players modern fans have ever seen in Sky Blue.

We've lived the dream and it's not over yet.

If we wanted average players they'd be here already. We want, have already got and will get more quality. This season will be hard and the team need the fans behind them. Not moaning when City or Arsenal with their billion pound squads beat us.

Hopefully most of us understand that good things come to those who wait and the owner and management deserve our trust and support. Let's enjoy the rest of pre season and have some positivity on here. PUSB

This rhetoric we can’t complain because we’ve been in league 2 is ridiculous and that “little old cov” mentality.

Read it again chap. I'm saying be patient and trust the process that's got us this far while we've continually moved forwards. If you can't be happy at this time try something else to fill your spare time.

Some of us aren’t old cunts like you lot and have never seen us in the big time.

We want to see us have a go and make all these last 25 years worth it.

These posts are utterly patronising and condescending.

Nothing patronising or condescending and we all want to see us have a go. There's a month to go for transfers and you're throwing your toys out of the pram because we're not conducting our business in public and having all of our signings in place in July (which no teams do). I'd much rather be a professional outfit that signs players without alerting other clubs, and at decent decent prices, rather than spouting off on social like the Hull owner. Each to their own though.

The Hull owner is at least signalling their intent.

Ours goes into hiding until he can claim all the glory.

We have the least amount of signings out of any promoted team at this point in the window for the last 5 years.

Patronising and condescending basically mean the same thing

You've got me there. Jack Butland is a great signal of intent. Silly us holding out for Rushworth.

I’m somewhere between wetting my bed and a dry bed. I guess we call that little tinkle bed? Ultimately I don’t think transfers can ever be judged in isolation. We’ll only know a good window by the end in terms of money spent and how the whole squad looks.

The run over the last 8/9 years has been incredible. But we should never have been in the position we were in in the first place.

We should never have not owned our own stadium. We should never have allowed SISU to own us. We should never have dropped down to League 2.

The last 8 years we have been playing catchup to where we should have been in the first place. We are now a normal football club. We can't change any of it and it is what it is.

But we are not a League 2 side that is on an incredible run rising through the leagues. We are Coventry City and being in the Premier League, or at least being top end of the Championship is where we should be.

I expect us to be competitive in whatever division we are in. A relegation fight is to be expected this coming season but we've proven over the last decade we can overachieve.

Any need for that
Yes cus its usually those who are patronising to the younger ones. People my age havent seen any top flight football.
You can make your point, without doing that.

to be deluded. sigh.

At a minimum we will sign 5 more players and probably end up spending another £80 million in the process. Will it be enough? Who knows. We're competing with teams with unlimited budgets half of whom the rules dont apply to.

All I'm saying is try and be patient, remember how far we've come and how shit it has been before and stay united as a fanbase. Almost all of us have questioned Doug at some point and so far he's proved us all wrong.

Parks is either having a breakdown or on the wind up. Just let him rant himself out.

Hulls signings have been uninspiring and Ipswich about par. We might have been aiming higher which takes longer and can fail, we'll have other options and there are plenty of players of the level Ipswich have bagged to go around if we can't get our main targets. No need crumble with a month of the window left.

Whos had a better window so far, us or Ipswich?

Alot of hopium in this thread!! The window so far has been poor, a few weeks to go but many would of wanted alot more through the door. Nobody wants to just be embarrassed week in week out alot more is needed then what we have done so far!!

So far the Kegel exercises are working fine. 😁

What I don't get is the binary mindset. It can be true that people are annoyed/bored/worried but at the same time know that we will be making signings and accept that things take time if you are trying to get higher calibre players.

Good post Billfred.

This rhetoric we can’t complain because we’ve been in league 2 is ridiculous and that “little old cov” mentality.

Its a ridiculous argument.
X used to happen so dont complain about Y.

Abd I say this as someone who has no issues about the business done so far or any concerns about future business in this window.

The amount of posters who genuinely want us to fail to be proved right is staggeringly high.

No sticky duvet for me, they’ll be more quality signings coming our way.

Skybluestalk is the only social media I still use (excluding whattsap, which I don’t really count anyway). I find mainstream social media full of people with inflated opinions of their self-importance, or lots of dangerous people (I’ve worked in safeguarding).

I’m only on this site because I love my club so much, just like the overwhelming majority of people here.
However, this site is ruined by people like you, who feel it is acceptable to speak to people in the way you do, several times a day, every day. It’s really putting me off.
I’ve blocked other people who I find toxic. I rarely post (usually intoxicated bollocks after a great win).
I’m guessing you’re actually a decent person in real life, but like many others, when it comes to internet interactivity, just lack the most basic forms of common courtesy.

I appreciate that this will sound very sanctimonious, but is just a desperate plea to the whole forum - please disagree and debate, but do most “debates” have to come down to childish name-calling.
It’s making me want to spend less time here, which probably isn’t a bad thing!
Rant over.
