Gibson has put over £300m in as have the Venkys at Blackburn

Swansea owners injected £20m and since then have recruited billionaire US owners in and the view is that they will be spending far more.

The thing about Wrexham’s owners is they have also committed investment in massive regeneration of the stadium and the surrounding area which can’t be viewed negatively
 
There was one chant, IIRC after Torp had scored, that ended with "and you turned it down" that I couldn't quite make out
 
I can see the promotion has done a job on the brain chemistry of some of our fans.

Wrexham, as a club, are everything wrong with modern football and what the sport stands for. The original fans themselves don't really come into it. Realistically, anyone that cares for the sport and doesn't support them, or doesn't have a Disney+ subscription with a ZIP code should want them to lose at the weekend and not go up.

I personally hope they have a few disastrous seasons and drop back down a league or two.

So just to be clear, how should a team go about their business to be on with football?

Modern football is what's wrong with modern football.
I don't care whether they succeed or not, just not bothered by their spending, same as I'm not bothered by what any club spends.

My only gripe is when teams break the rules and it drags on for years like Man City and Leicester

We will know the situation by now. The only guessing part could be that Rushworth comes here only if they get their target.

Clubs don't wait until the season ends to decide what they're doing next season. They've been staying up for ages. We wanted Rushworth permanently before he joined us on loan. Rushworth stated he would love to join us permanently.

If they're selling and the price is right it will be a very easy deal to make.

We're not too far off evens in the transfer market. Remember we got 6.5m late on for Sheaf. You could say Onyeka has taken it over but he is our first Prem signing.

The money King has been putting in has been for other things that were needed mainly. Others have come in and bankrolled signing as they didn't have a Gyokeres and Hamer to sell. Then they have to invest just like King has.
 
And the key is to do what we did and use any windfall to really plan purchases. When Vic and Gus left we bought the spine of today’s team- including 2 strikers that even given their weaknesses have scored a ton of goals for us. Our secret sauce was to keep saleable assets AND use tactical investment from the owner to get us over the line. It really is the only model if you haven’t got a billionaire owner.

Swansea will no doubt cash in on Vipotnik but what they do with that will determine their fate

Also, the championship has always been a league with some clubs on Prem budgets but when you stretch that to L1 you will always get some nutter owners try and copy them in a low income league and will definitely see some of them get into massive trouble .

Watch the game back on Sky, I know, I didn't see sitting from the stands, but when Frank Lampard shook Phil Parkinson's hand, the ignorant bastard just look the other way and couldn't let go quick enough. What's an arrogant prick. 🤬

Wasn't much earlier at all either. Sure it was within just a few mins.

Was watching on TV and they showed the two incidents were pretty much identical

And how Rathbone didn't get booked earlier was beyond belief

And absolutely useless ref. Not biased. Just useless.

Apparently the ref was going on holiday to vegas after the final match, but the offer has been rescinded for some reason. :ROFLMAO:

Phil Parkinson is Victor Medrew. Miserable git who barely acknowledged FL at the end of the game ,just about shook his hand unlike his coaching staff who were magnanimous.
