I'm generally pro restrictions going but things like this make me wonder

The real answer is increased capacity in hospital but that won't happen overnight

This is generally seen on Twitter as a lie. Not saying it definitely is but only 8k followers. Don’t trust someone just because they have the word doctor in their name

I mean, she is right about the NHS being on its knees, but that shouldn't mean it's open season on just saying a load of mistruths.

Most of the reasons we have had restrictions is to stop the NHS being overwhelmed, but it gets overwhelmed extremely easily (separate argument as to why). Covid is not that menacing compared to something like Ebola. If that broke out here we would be absolutely fucked.

Not necessarily given that you can’t get asymptomatic Ebola and it’s transmitted only by contact with bodily fluids

Dr Dre is one of the best producers of all time and a half decent rapper as well. That’s you proven wrong.

Say sorry

Just seen this on twitter

Shes deleted her tweet the fucking prick.

Tweeting scaremongering stories that there are no paediatric ICU beds in the country is a scummy move.

Paediatric consultants all over twitter now saying this is bullshit and they're ok.

Can send people into a panic, we all adore our children and saying they can't be treated in an emergency is fucking low

She's quite quickly corrected what she said

What did this person say?

Edit: Yeah I just looked above and saw it

You’re right, a very stupid thing to say. And if freaks like Laurence Fox and the rest of the fruitcakes follow suit with some of their claims then maybe there would be a bit more balance around the place in general.

There doesn't need to be two sides of bullshit. None would be better.

I’m genuinely pretty scared about where this is all leading to - the constant lying from Johnson,ie telling us we’d all be free at Easter if we had the jab,the constant shifting of the goalposts,a ‘ping’ system that is effectively locking shit loads of people away for days at a time even if there’s nothing potentially wrong with them…the list is endless
The more it all goes on,the more it makes you wonder if it really is all over a virus that’s still not the massive killer the news & media would have us believe - I do genuinely think our freedoms are slowly being taken away & as a country we‘re just too placid & believing Boris & his lies - you can see why France have been taking to the streets but, over here, there’s way too much apathy
I reckon there’ll be lockdowns again in a few weeks & it’s slowly starting to feel like the dark days of January all over again - very depressing times afoot

I think you need to put the bong down.

For a start the government have said self isolating when you’re pinged is entirely voluntary.

This is the first pandemic in our lifetime so of course it feels weird. But we’ve just followed very basic public health. And not even that for large chunks.

The most basic freedom is right to life. Putting a bit of cloth over your mouth or being asked to work from home isn’t the gulag. Yes we’ve had to limit people’s activities in a time of national crisis, just like people had to in the war, in fact during the war people had far far far less freedoms. (Yet the same people who witter on about freedoms today also love to bang on about the war and blitz spirit and the rest weirdly)

I think more cushy middle class jobs being able to be done from wherever

How dare we rebalance the economy away from London and towards deprived coastal towns?

And you’re one to talk. A huge benefit when I was teaching was the knowledge that my work is spread all over the planet, there’s not an area without schools anywhere. I could’ve worked in Dubai, America, Barbados, anywhere.

In my new career most of my work is in Manchester or London until recently.

The way the majority right wing press are cartwheeling to blame everything on the Dido Harding App. Cause and effect. Boris let the strain in at the first opportunity, Boris is letting it run riot, the pingdemic is an effect of the borisdemic.
