Transfer Rumour Carl Rushworth - Permanent (7 Viewers)

Arsenal spent £30 million on Raya a few seasons ago…
You're having a laugh if you're comparing him to their record signing 😂

They paid more than twice that for one of our recent players alone.

I saw Glazietbplay and indeed went to his testimonial but I was young !! My dad was at Maine arias when he broke his leg and remains convinced that he would have played for England had that not happened. Obviously Oggy is an all time legend but I’m not so sure that at his best Hedman wasn’t better ?
I played "in" Bill Glazier's Testimonial.

So why did we pay so much for him?

Yes he will be busier next season, but you can't deny his quality of saves and how good his handling is. This won't diminish just because he is playing at the next level next season. It will be more obvious when he is making world class saves against world class players in a division watched all around the world.

Lampard didn't make him his top target for no reason. There's not many clubs that have a GK as their record signing.
Totally agree a save is a save doesn't matter what league you're in. He will be busier but I think we seen enough in the championship to know he's fundamentally a top all round goalkeeper. There's no way we'd be forking out this amount of money.

I’ll be honest, I thought £30m for Raya was too much and can safely admit that was a shit take.
My point was more about the size of the investment than it being a club record. Not done badly for someone who conceded twice against Tyler Walker…

Yet quoted someone comparing GK's as record signings.

Rushworth will become one of the most expensive GK's ever. With the buy back clause he could become the most expensive ever. That's a big gamble for Lampard to take, but also one I'm happy with.

The buy back clause won’t be above 72 million, which is what Chelsea paid for Kepa. Christ 😂

Better seeing this than him accidentally posting a picture of his knob.
Oh 100% this would happen if the other King was in charge...

(Should have covered it up with one of them semi final t-shirts...😏)

Social videos and pictures taken at CBS this evening.

For City or for the England 1966 world cup team?
[/QUOTE There was a match beforehand Coventry School Boys U14 v Ajax.
We then were the guard of honour for the afore mentioned. I actually should of scored at the West End. Probably. Wasn't a sitter thankfully.

Kepa is the most expensive keeper ever £72m I'm sure it was. It would take some beating but if Cov stay up and Rushworth has a couple of outstanding seasons then I think the big clubs will start circling and in today's market it wouldn't be out of the question for that £72m to be beaten. Kepa was no one special when he was signed from Athletic Bilbao. He was loaned out twice by Chelsea and finally sold to Arsenal for peanuts.
