According to this, the Panenka success rate is about 5% lower than other approaches

That’s certainly one way of interpreting that article! But I appreciate the effort to be objective about it!

“In my dataset, the scoring rate of a true Panenka is statistically similar to that of any other type of penalty kicks; although it is slightly lower.”

He estimated that the conversion rate of Panenkas “could be 4-5 percentage points lower than the average penalty kick”, although he pointed out that the data size to work from is small

Julian dicks enters the penalty chat. No messing
Or Killer.

Though I do remember him trying to be clever against some tiny Norwich bloke who had to go in goal after their keeper got sent off, and dribbling it past the post.

Meh, it’s as objective as one can be based on the data we have.

to be fair he is just saying what the person behind the report said was the findings

because it allows me to choose if I have to see the nonsense you post, for example I will not read any of the frankly dull "look it me2 posting you do on the transfer thread

it's nice
seems a bit odd

but crack on big' 'un

The bit where he says that panenkas are “statistically similar to any other kind of penalty” and that the sample size is small also seems like useful context, no? I genuinely want to know the answer to this!

Think CCFC should try this the next time we don’t get a pen

i’m not sure, those jeans and shoes were pretty odd fella 😉
not at the time fella, if you paid more attention to fashion you may have seen a naked woman that wasn't a) paid for b) scared or c) in pixel form

but thanks for proving my point

Piss poor "The Office" based jokes, no wonder you are such a hit with the ladies.

I’ve been well behaved last few days, he has me on mute yet still replies. very odd.
You’ve done so much WUMming on here I’ve had genuine trouble working out when you’re trying to behave. Maybe best playing fair for a while?

I will. Unfortunately David likes to follow me round here like a puppy following its owner

Anyway, back to the game.

Morocco looked beaten before the goal went in. Extra time was all Senegal.

Diaz probably wishes he'd stuck with Spain ;)

President of Morocco looked absolutely thrilled to be handing the trophy over there

I dont remember them leaving or missing for games.. could be wrong as was only young

We did, it was a bit later than this year's tournament. I think they left for it after the FA Cup 4th round (which was played earlier than usual at the beginning of January due to Man United playing in the club world cup)

Didn’t watch the game but saw plenty of footage of the ball boys trying to steal Edouard Mendy’s towel during the match. Wtf?

Proper weird that was.... I look forward to Morocco hosting the world cup in 4 ½ years.

Some really strange shit seemed to go on.

Somebody pointed out the reaction of the players when the pen was saved, nobody was arsed. Last minute of a final and everybody just stood there. None of the Senegal players followed it in either.

There were a whole load of objects chucked in Mendy’s direction in the second half, unless he was really thirsty.
