2012 comparison.

[Greggs]

Very very depressing and boring on here recently, so i thought i'd cheer things up.
Compare the 2012 Championship relegated side to this season's shit show.

J Murphy
J Clarke
R Keogh (c)
M Cranie
C Hussey
O Norwood
C Thomas
G Bigirimana
G McSheffrey
C McDonald
C Platt

in 2012 we had a better keeper, better centre halves, better midfield, and were slightly stronger upfront.

[bradwellskyblues]

Nonsense current midfield vastly superior as are the strikers defence and goalie marginally better I concede

you cannot honestly say with a straight face that Bigi and Conor Thomas are better than Hamer and Sheaf

and that Clive Platt is better than Gyok

idiot

Exactly, it could even be argued that the defence was no better, I didn't rate Hussey or Clarke.
You have to look who the poster is to determine the motive behind the post.

Wait until you see the bench that year...

Carl Baker? Would walk into this team....

And that’s today’s Carl Baker. Burnley would have snapped up the 2012 version instead of O’Hare any time

[mark82]

In all seriousness, how many of that team would get in our current team?

Probably Keogh, and maybe McSheffrey. Norwood possible too (although not sure if I'm judging on what he is now as opposed to what he was then). That's about it.

Cranie definitely would he’s far better than what we have now as is Keogh

McSheffery was dreadful on return. No better than Walker.

[TomRad85]

In reality it is almost half. Murphy, Keogh, Cranie, Norwood and McSheffrey get in this team.

Norwood (at that age) over Sheaf or Hamer?

[pusbccfc]

Murphy
02 Keogh
03 Hussey (Christie 67)
15 Cranie
30 Cameron
04 Clingan
07 Bell (Deegan 64)
32 Thomas
09 Jutkiewicz
11 McSheffrey
19 O'Donovan (Platt 77)
Substitutes
13 Dunn, 31 Christie, 12 Deegan, 14 McDonald, 22 Platt

Our side exactly 11 years ago today.

Horredous. Deegan, Platt, Bell, Cameron and Roy O'Donovan were dreadful.

You may have been trying to lighten the mood but the sad reality is that if a manager of Thorn's quality couldn't keep us up with talents like Platt, Hussey and McDonald then Robins has no chance with the current lot.

[SheafIsGod]

Centre backs and GK are the only positions which were better than the dross we have now.
