Defence - Time for a Change?

My source: http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/league-one/2012-2013/custom-table Enter at top starting date 19th sep (date MR joined) and pres 'go'. This is my post no 1000 - it would have been nice if I had used it for something special, enlightning, humorous or even intelligent. But...

Defence - Time for a Change?

Actually that is not strictly true. Under MR we have managed 1.83pts/game and are behind Donny (2.00), Bournemouth (1.91), Swindon (1.87) and Brentford (1.86).

18 matches to define a club over 82 days

For those who want a good overview of the games we have left: http://www.statto.com/football/teams/coventry-city/2012-2013 Sorted after current league position and colored for those who suffer from digit dyslexia.

9 points off top. . .15 games still to play

Since Robins took over the team has averaged 1.83 pt/match - which is only 4th best after Donny (2.0), Bournemouth (1.91) and Brentford (1.86). A simple projection: 15 matches left x 1.83 pt = 27.45pt added to our current total (47) = 74-75 points. Which should be enough for play off...

    our true league position

This site is great for the stat freaks: http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/league-one/2012-2013/true-table/full The linked page - called True Table - agrees with the OP. Putting us in 11th place. (Mind you - that is one step up from last week). Be carefull when visiting the site, you...

Mark Robins - What a brilliant appointment !

Completely forgot Boothroyd ... he too was a defender in his playing days. I do think the managers pedigree as a player effects how he organise the team, who he sign, where his focus is. We have for years been struggling with scoring enough goals ... maybe because the various managers main...

CET: Robinson liable for 250k of Ricoh rent

Or ... to flip the coin ... at £170k plus match day expenses ACL should be able to survive and fullfil it's original purpose: Making sure the club has a home.

ACL and the City Council announcement

Actually I didn't say anything about it being 'ok' or not. I said it was 'shrewd'. Which it is. A move I never saw coming, but then I am not a financial expert. A move that none on this board mentioned as a possibility, and there are a couple with financial expertise here. When somebody does...

    150 years anniversary

I don't know if this has been discussed, but as we have now entered the anniversary year of the club, does anybody know if something special has been planned? I mean apart from the obvious: Two visits to Wembley, winning the JPT trophy and getting promoted back to the Championship. ... oh...

ACL and the City Council announcement

Re 3: How big a profit would sisu potentially make on that transaction? £5m? £7m? If there is a third party, why wouldn't they buy the lease directly from the administrator? That way a bidding war over the lease would eliminate most potential profit sisu could hope to make. Re 5: Wouldn't it...

ACL and the City Council announcement

Why didn't the council go all the way and buy the Higgs shares? Would have taken some of the complexity out of it all.

ACL and the City Council announcement

Shrewed move! Removes completely any threat of ACL going bust. Now it's up to sisu to show their hand.

    Now Back Your Manager SISU

I can't remember how much he lost on the take over transaction ... he may have gained a bit of money before that on interests and directors fee though.
  18. G

    Now Back Your Manager SISU

Absolutely - sisu paid nothing for his shares. Robinson even had to write off a personal loan ... if I remember correctly. There were talks about Robinson might have gotten something back if the club was promoted to PL, but that never happened.
  19. G

    Now Back Your Manager SISU

Those shares were not worth a penny, so hardly stealing. They 'paid' the same amount for Robinsons shares. And if the fans owned shares were not handed over, the deal would have been off. ANY ... I repeat ANY ... investor looking to take over the club at that moment would have demanded excatly...
