The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

These idiot MPs have never negotiated anything in their lives obviously (Soubry is an absolute waste of space - I'm sure everyone is fully aware her constituency voted leave). Maybe if more had just kept quiet, much like a majority of the individual EU countries have done (their solidarity has...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

I'm sure if some of these loopholes were taken seriously and addressed (or comfort provided) in 2016 we wouldn't be in this mess ! I heard a German MEP on the radio the other day who was desperate for the UK to remain and basically said the EU needed to shoulder a significant portion of the...

Was reading the first of the two links earlier this evening, before seeing you had attached them. Interesting how low labours approval rating is for their handling of Brexit (bearing in mind what a mess May has made of negotiations, she’s still up 12% !!!) As I’ve said before and to numerous...

    Chaplin question?

Agree with this. He keeps having to come so deep in his current role, it’s crazy. He’s 21-22 years old FFS, he will score goals

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

It’s not about being an expert. It’s common sense. I’ve said before that I don’t think Mays deal is that bad (if there was comfort and/or trust around the backstop). I’m just saying you don’t leave yourself in a position of not properly planning for your worst case scenario.

Also, how the fuck didn’t we tie at least a proportion of the £39bn into the agreement of a final trade deal. This would also make the backstop being required less likely, which may have got the deal through parliament Our negotiators have been at best incompetent !

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

It is a sensible strategy though Tony. The cost of not preparing and/or getting a bad deal for the UK (by being in a weaker negotiating position) is significantly more than say £1bn (realistic cost of starting properly preparing for a no deal). It wouldn’t just be a ‘hoax’ it would be an...

Kicking off in parliament ! Motion by labour trying to force a vote on cancelling tomorrows vote (what a bizarre situation !)

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

What a mess ! I really can’t see how it can be resolved either. The fact is that parliament is split. Mays deal is a compromise so will never get the staunch remainers or Brexiteers support. The EU won’t budge now apart from providing some ‘comforting words’ about the backstop. I said early...

Agree. I was saying Mays withdrawal agreement (however unpopular) does try to reflect that. That’s why both many rabid Brexiteers and remainers dont like it....it gives neither what they truly want. If comfort regarding exit from backstop could be provided I really don’t understand what a...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Not sure your point Martin. Mine was that Corbyn was suggesting that the current withdrawal agreement/backstop reduces our powers to decide future relationships (which is correct), however, his proposal is customer union forever which means we have the same/even less power to decide them longer...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Ps Corbyn just talks total nonsense on the subject. He said it’s not credible for government to propose a deal ‘to reduce our powers to decide our relationships in future’. I presume he means trading relationships. Labours proposal (other than force general election - which at present is...

Agree with Tony. The detail in a Norway deal would be no more acceptable to Leavers than Mays current withdrawal agreement, which for me (whilst I appreciate I might be in a minority of one !), barring being able to find a way to exit the backstop unilaterally (possibly after a time limit/if new...

    Robbie retiring.

What a player for his age ! I can’t recall any better 18/19 year olds who have played for city in my lifetime (Ndlovu possibly up there in patches). Yes, he wasn’t here for long but quality. Hear the directors made a nice turn on his move to Inter ! Always had c*nts running the club !

Good question Pete...although you may regret asking !!! I’ve mentioned a couple on this thread but since you asked.... Uncontrolled (not to be confused with controlled please !) immigration. Let’s just say a lack of proper control of EU migration. The argument May finally mentioned at the CBI...

So why didn’t the EU go on the charm offensive when Cameron went out with his begging bowl ?! Reason is both sides were too arrogant to believe the public would vote leave ! Ps Ireland was dug out of the shit in the financial crisis, that’s maybe part of the reason they are so pro EU (not sure...
