Hypothetical Question just a bit if fun (3 Viewers)

Indeed WS. Dulieu stated quite confidently that the value of the squad had increased under his tenure because of the value of the players' contracts. The whopper given to Bell (contract, not delicious burger) was likely done purely to demonstrate this.

Waggy has been their only worthy appointment.

At board level, I agree. Although I would have liked to have seen Cloughting (spelling?) on a different board. Very passionate about the community of Coventry and how the club could influence and help the vulnerable of our society but due to the circumstances and the supposed pressure of being in what was only a few yards away from being described as footballs answer to The Avengers or Justice League of a board, he didn't get the opportunity he required to make an impact. Although his comments about bed sheets were a bit disappointing.

I think Clouting's early resignation was a major sign that things weren't right with Dulieu and Igwe at the helm. Ultimately though it has to be said that SISU not only didn't do their homework but took a good 4-5 years to hand it in.

It's actually really hypocritical of you Don. You don't want us to be moved out the city, but you would be happy to go and support a club removed from their town (albeit 5-6 miles) and relocated into Coventry.

It depends

I think if you asked the majority of Cov fans if they want move 35 miles away to a smaller stadium and stick with SISU they would say no.

I think if you asked the majority of Nuneaton fans if they wanted a multimillionaire owner but they have to move to one of the most modern stadiums in the country, 6 miles down the road.........

Would you follow Coventry to Birmingham to play in Villa Park at the whim of an investor who promised the Premiership?

Whould you be happy about it?

22 miles away not part of Coventry and Warwickshire

So not for me.

If Coventry moved 5 miles in either direction maybe

Is this becoming a more realistic dilemma
If it was an option would it make Tim think twice about moving out?

I like the hypocrisy of not wanting ccfc to be move out of the Coventry, but you would be quite happy to move Nuneaton town out of Nuneaton.

So if Coventry moved a mile outside the border of Coventry but we would have a more successful future. You would have an issue with this?

Well I can think of clubs that don't play in their named towns so probably not.

If you moved Coventry city 1 mile outside it's border it would still be Coventry city. If you move Nuneaton town 1 mile outside Nuneaton it will still be Nuneaton town not coventry city mk2 like you seem to long for...are you sure you're not a closet Nuneaton fan?

What I don't understand is:

Why if SISU are such a talented bunch of business people, did they not attempt to renegotiate the rent when they took over?

Situational factors have changed. If all went to plan, CCFC would've been in the prem in no time where the rent would be rather reasonable, shame the plan wasn't particularly well thought out.

No... No its not. Sorry Don!

What isn't, that we are not planning to move out?
Or that if we do the Ricoh won't need another purpose?

Tim's blackmail is based on the concept if I take my ball home you can't play anymore.

What if someone brings a new ball albeit a hacky sack to start with?

The likelihood of Nuneaton moving into The Ricoh and actually converting the Coventry locals is as likely as our European Qualification prospects next season.

Just rephrasing the question doesn't increase the likelihood!

Yep, they would probably keep their name, play in blue and white stripes and sing "for the tits, the fanny and boro, oh Nuneaton is wonderful..."

We can still get that quadruple, I've no doubt about it ;)

All this uproar about making sure CCFC stay in Coventry, yet the RICOH is barely Coventry, it's about 2 minutes and you're out of the city!

I'm sorry but this thread is a joke, Dong, you are full of BS pal, I don't whether to cry or laugh! - how/why/where do you make these things happen!?

Still think it was a good idea not to accept the deal on the table. Don't worry I will give you a lift to Northampton to support SISU FC. Then you really won't know whether to laugh or cry?

My choice would be watch Nuneaton

With all due respect, and I know it's only a hypothetical question, but, if you mean watching Nuneaton in Coventry, then wouldn't it make you a hypocrite? Since, I guess you support the Trust's notion that CCFC must remain in Coventry (but if necessary, I wouldn't totally resist the idea of a move) which I respect and agree with up to a point, as I don't want to have to travel to watch CCFC, and to watch a club that is playing away from it's home town, or even the prospect of stealing their club (which Dong said in one post) whilst boycotting our club who is playing away from Coventry based on 'principle' is just wrong in my view and I for one would not support that Nuneaton or that fake CCFC clone.

The Coventry locals choice would be support a club called Coventry playing in Northampton.

Or

Support a club called.....

Playing in the Coventry (two divisions below the Northamton team. winning match after match

Taylor big difference ask 30,000 cov fans if they want to play 40 odd miles away in a smaller stadium under SISU. Most would say no?

Ask 1000 Nuneaton fans would they move a couple of miles down the road to one of the most modern stadiums in thd country and be owned by a multimillionaire.

You go to school I think you maybe able to guess what most would say.

So no not really that hypocritical

Can you please explain why a multi millionaire would buy Nuneaton -- that one is lost on me.

But you'd support a Nuneaton that was playing away from Nuneaton whilst boycotting CCFC for playing away from Coventry based on principle? Skewed principles you have.

Better still, you'd also support a Nuneaton that was robbed and converted into a fake CCFC, well, I find that incomprehensible, why don't you go support MK Dons who are into that shit. No to franchise football! - all whilst boycotting a club that is temporarily leaving its home? Unbelievable.

Also, you have flawed logic, I don't care if it's hypothetical, the FL would prevent it from happening anyway.

I'm sure if the Nuneaton fans had the same principles as CCFC fans they would resist any move. They're called Nuneaton Town for a reason, and worst still, you're proposing they move permanently and I'm assuming, changing their name as well, I don't think any Nuneaton fan would want that.

Why 30k? We only get 10k for home games! Also, you're assuming it's Nene Park, well, what if it's St Andrews (a more realistic option) where it's a similar sized ground (albeit a shit-hole) and down the road really, yet most CCFC fans are well against that? Again, skewed principles.

P.S. what has my education got anything to do with it?

In reality no one would watch Nuneaton at the Ricoh -- it's stupid.

Especially if Nuneaton fans have the same 'principles' as the majority of fans on here, yet it appears some would would o against their morals to support this fake CCFC or Nuneaton team not in Nuneaton, to play at the RICOH, whilst CCFC were only temporarily moved away!

What would they do -- open one block to accommodate the crowd? Why are we even debating this drivel.

It does show though that Don is not against franchise football as a concept - as long as it suits him.

Purely to get his hands on the Ricoh and develop land. Two years and they would be where we are now.

It would rid the council ACL and Coventry if SISU once and for all.
