Match Thread Tottenham Hotspur vs Coventry City (A) - Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Mon 19th October (8pm KO) (56 Viewers)

Just seen this by a joker on their site............................ if only it comes true!!!!!

Just back from the future to save anyone the bother of watching tomorrow night:

32nd minute: OFF! Spurs defender Van Hecke shown a RED CARD for Denial of Goal Scoring Opportunity.

45+1: GOAL! Coventry! Cherif's speculative shot takes a wicked deflection off Van De Ven and rolls into the far corner.

HT: Spurs 0 Coventry 1

87th minute: PENALTY! SPURS! James Maddison earns Spurs first penalty since May 25 as he's fouled in the box.

88th minute: SAVED! Dominic Solanke's effort is palmed onto the post by Rushworth. Mathys Tel balloons the rebound over.

90+4: GOAL! Coventry. Rudoni on the break slots past a stranded Antonin Kinsky.

FT: Spurs 0 Coventry 2

Kulusevski back on the bench though apparently. I like him, good player but hopefully well off the pace after his absence
Kulusevski plus Maddison who has only managed 20 minutes per game. Could swing in our way just as much as it could go against us.

Seems like a lifetime away when Maddison had a chat with my little boy in Italy. Maddison is nearly 30 and my little boy is over 6' 😂

Land in the US are just after half time. Hopefully log on to some good news

I think we should start 3-5-1-1 with Mfuni comming in to a back 3 and big T starting up front with Rudoni just behind him with the freedom to cause havoc.

Any pubs about? Parking at Cheshunt. Don't mind one around there and get the overground to White Hart Lane a bit later

I think we should pump in 5 goals early. Probably would win then. Simms and Sakamoto for a brace each. Own goal gets on the scoresheet.

I think a draw would be a very good result. I think everyone is expecting Tottenham to get their act together soon, it seems unlikely this run will carry on for too long. But we will be feeling buoyed by two wins in a row, we could sneak it. I'm excited and nervous, wish I was going.

Scoring 1st would be a bonus. I read somewhere that they hadn't come from behind to win the last 48 times they have gone behind in a game 😁

In the 92nd minute preferably.

I think Spurs will dish out a tonking to someone soon... really hope it won't be us tonight but I do have that feeling it might be!
Yep - think the main worry for me is if Kudus gets a lot of the ball out wide v JDS. Jay has had a great season, but Kudus is a beast and extremely rapid. Hopefully he doesn't get too isolated.

If we do get a tonking I hope they score a few as early as possible so I can go home, not sure why I signed up for this, getting home around 1am for a 5am wake up isn't going to be fun.

You weren't that bloke who took his family home on the train, when we were 3-0 down at half time to Man Utd were you?

This is a lot lot tougher than the table suggests. Spurs will pin us in our own box for long periods of time. Only 3 teams have had more touches in opponents box and only 2 teams have completed more passes in the final 3rd. Just got to hope their terrible shot conversion rate continues.

I can't see it personally.

This is their 3rd season of being poor. It must have got into the players heads by now.

6 games in 3 goals for 6 against, but they have drawn 3 of their last 4 games.

Nah, I'll be staying to the end at 3-0 but if it's going to be 5-0 make it at 50 minutes, not at 90, with the goals scored at 85, 86, 87, 88, 89.

I know their bottom, but we should see this as a free hit. Pressure is on them in front of their fans. If they haven’t scored by half time there will be frustration. We just got to hope there’s something we can get out of it, but no disaster if not.
