Match Thread Tottenham Hotspur vs Coventry City (A) - Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Mon 19th October (8pm KO) (8 Viewers)

Looking at this last night. Any known issues with parking at Edmonton Shopping Centre? Looks like 30 mins walk away and then guess will hit some traffic getting out. Any experience of using this before?
easy to find and only half hour walk (straight down road to ground). Saves queuing ages for train on way out but took about half hour to get out of car park afterwards

I think it will be
3/4/3

Asante/Rudoni
Awoniyi

And these will be rotated after 65 mins

Hamer/Tats/Cherif/Simms

And Onyeka/Torp will come on for Grimes/Yirenchi.

I just can't believe i keep on picking Asante just because he runs around alot! I need my coffee!

To see him play right wing infuriates me.

You seem infuriated by quite a lot of aspects of that 4-1 win, chill out and enjoy it, theres going to be plenty of adverse results to get your melt down on to this season.

Had a look at the Spurs forum

Did have to smirk at the comment of "Another Micky Mouse team that has some sort of strange one sided rivalry with us. Fucking weirdos."

Can honestly say I have never once saw Tottenham Hotspur as a rival:ROFLMAO: Wouldn't even say I dislike them, of the so called 'Big 6' they are probably the side I would be happy to see win a trophy the most

My only gripe with them is their collapse enabling the inbreds to win the fucking Prem in 2016

This is the type of go-to phrase of the modern internet football fan. You can't have any sort of banter with opposition fans on line without someone saying you're "forcing a rivalry".

They are deluded and i'm unsure how they managed to become part of a so called 'big 6'. I don't hate them and i do know some decent Spurs fans but they are a good source of amusement at times. Also it's probably the team i'm going to have to keep my boy away from to ensure he's a Cov fan, although he seems to have no interest in football at all currently.

I've literally never seen anything from us that would look like forcing a rivalry

Online football banter is quite cringey anyway. The forcing a rivalry thing is really embarrassing though, i'm not really sure what it means. Every team is a rival.

The only thing that any proper Spurs fan considers is the 87 cup final ! Where they had a big chance only for Mabutts knee to step in and give victory deservedly to the Sky blues 😁 Latterly the cup game at the CBS when they brought in the A team in the second half and they were just better !!

2 of the greatest days of my Cov supporting life came against Spurs, in 87 and 97. I don't think of them as a rival at all, any more than any other team is. I would consider them in a bracket with Everton, Villa, Chelsea in terms of stature and size of club, certainly a notch below the traditional massive teams.

I think it will be quite an open game from Spurs perspective and they may want to chuck the kitchen sink at it as they desperately need a home win to kick start them which will play into our hands with the pace of Cherriff. It could be a game to drop EMC and providing he hasn't been a twat in training this week give Ghobo a run out.

  • Playing Style: Gboho is an aggressive, unpredictable, and highly skillful left-winger who can also operate through the middle or on the right. Known for elite dribbling metrics and his ability to draw fouls, he provides direct attacking flair.
  • Background: Born in the Ivory Coast, he represented France at youth international levels and is the cousin of PSG and France star Desire Doue. Before joining Toulouse, he developed at Rennes and spent time at Vitesse Arnhem and Cercle Brugge.
  • Recent Team Success: He joins a newly-promoted Coventry squad that recently secured a historic 4-1 victory over Newcastle United, marking their first Premier League home win in 25 years. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Lucky little bastard!
He's 5 currently and he's absolutely not got the attention span to take in a football match. Then again i wasn't really into watching football until i was about 13-ish, started going to more live games then got hooked.

Described by my dad growing up as 'A good cup side, who play good football'

Granted, they are a bigger club than we will ever be, but I am not quite sure how they are considered in the same bracket as Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal etc.

When I first got into football in the Early 2000s Tottenham were a upper midtable side who had the occasional foray into the UEFA Cup - And even that period was off the back of a spell in the late 90s where they were shit, it took them 14 Premier League seasons to finish above 8th

More of a trust thing at the minute, I'd say. He knows BTA will run through a brick wall for him all game and do exactly as he instructs. Seems like a good character to have in the team too. Not defending it, just my opinion on why he's picking BTA at the minute, rather than those with a perceived better footballing ability. He's not exactly been shite at the minute either to be fair, done just enough.

Think it will be a tricky one under the lights away from home. Thought they were impressive against United. They start as favourites, but wouldn’t rule us out from nicking a draw. Maybe even better if we can keep them from scoring in the first half.

yes I guess he usually plays Torp a bit deeper, an 8 as it's now known. Hamer should be that position too I would have thought

I think he sees Hamer as one of the two/three behind the striker. Not how he was used when he was with us last.

Don't think Awoniyi has the right to walk straight back into the starting 11. Maybe give him the last half hour

I’m feeling optimistic about Monday, honesty think we can go there and win.

Yeah weird one that, never had an issue with them, in fact quite liked watching them during the bale/modric days. Maybe theyve stil got the needle over 87 😏

It is not just that is it? He's quick, strong and carries a goal threat.

He's important to the team's off the ball work which is why he's made the highest number of interceptions per 90 in the whole squad (12th best in the whole league).

I was in this camp too but i think he will be more effective against the likes of van de ven, senesi and van hecke. If cherif starts and bosses any combo of those 3 then then he really is a prospect

It was a travesty the Kane/Son/Dele side never won anything really

Even more of a travesty the jammy bastards down the M69 won the Premier League instead

Aren’t spurs the literal definition of a Mickey Mouse Club?
