Match Thread Coventry City vs Aston Villa [LC] (H) - Coventry Building Society Arena - Wed 16th September (8pm KO) (7 Viewers)

Apart from Lati and Bentley it's actually not too bad.

Looking forward to seeing Gboho and Cherif from the start.

I think we win this

when I think we played Blackpool at St Andrews I missed the first two as I went in a strop to the bar and we scored twice at the end of the first half then left to get the train (via the pub) and missed the winner

Haha! The only goal I saw that day was the winner so I did a bit better than you

That has to be back to to a 4 at the back, we aren’t still playing 5 with Yirenyki RWB are we? Please no.

Assuming not, there are some positives; good midfield two (potentially our strongest), decent wingers and we get to see Gboho and Cherif start - but I predict he’ll be blowing at 30.

Further evidence he hates Simms.

Lati at RB though... it's like he didn't watch him get tortured against Plymouth.

Doesn't want to risk MVE getting injured, we haven't got anyone else that's fit to play at right back. 😱

Thats a strong Villa side. Could be an interesting night

Lesser of two evils.

Can’t see us sit back in a 5-4-1 yet still give away acres of space and look vulnerable every attack.

Lati will do a job defensively, low expectations but he will put a shift in (I’m scraping). I mean it’ll also impact how Sakamoto plays too, but let’s ignore that for now.

What a time for KKH to be injured.

You must not have watched Plymouth if you think he will do a job defensively.

That right hand side line up got hammered by League 1 Plymouth. Lati got the absolute runaround by a Plymouth right back out of position and their winger was a spurs loanee to be fair.

They are up against Ruggeri and Hemmings tonight.

Reassuring to see Onyeka on the bench at least, looked like he might have done his shoulder on Sunday

Taking the piss out of us all paying £37 to watch nine changes and latti at right back. Wait until you see Bentley. Makes Collins look like Shilton

We conceded 5 at the weekend with 3 CBs, so he's gone with 4 of them tonight.

In all seriousness, not too fussed about the result tonight but it's an opportunity for some of the new signings to show they belong in the starting lineup.
