Does anyone remember an away game at Wimbledon on a Tuesday night where Slade gestured to the crowd with his fingers that we were winning 1-0 and then we ended up conceding a 96th min equaliser?

Yep Jodi Jones scored a great goal. I went into accepting a loss, so the result was worse giving me hope tbh think it was on Valentine’s Day too haha.

This reminds me, maybe not the lowest point but perhaps the saddest;watching Jodi jones go down injured again about 5 mins after coming on as a sub…I think against Shrewsbury? The groan of sympathy from the crowd, everyone immediately knew.

The realisation with a few minutes to go that either us or Leicester were down..... the fact we stayed up glossed over how abysmal it was.

I think the worst part was, there seemed to be a general feeling that this was the lowest we could go and things would turn round.

Our managers in the championship years was a who’s who of fake it till you make it…that said none of them were given the best cards to succeed.

First season back down and the 08/09 seasons were the only ones where the team was in decent enough condition to have a real go. Unfortunately it just imploded spectacularly in 2002 and Coleman was nowhere near good enough in 2009. Warnock could probably have taken either of them at least to the playoffs.

In the 09/10 season there was a very brief period where we looked like we could make a tilt at the play-offs then we ended up going winless in our last 11 matches before Coleman got the boot

There was, but I think the quality was better in 08/09 with Fox and Dann still around. Coleman properly tanked it, though I grant he also tanked it in 09/10.

When the Leicester final score came through after the game, the City players all rushed over to the fans to celebrate, and were swiftly told by the fans where to go! One of the worst performances with so much on the line.

Also good to see some mentions of Mark Venus. Without doubt one of the worst and most dislikeable blokes to ever be associated with the club!

Things were so toxic it made me question my support for the club. Fortunately, after the Crewe defeat Mark Robins was appointed, and here we are…..

The Rochdale win in league one champions season was great atmosphere

There was another defeat at Crewe not long after when they were bottom of the league but we were simply dreadful. Our goal was an own goal and Jim O'Brien was committing crimes against football all over the pitch.

I remember being in town while that game was on. I don't remember how I found out about the score, but I do recall just finding a bench to sit on in the sheer acceptance that we were gone. I don't think I even had the heart to celebrate staying up.

It was disgraceful performance, almost as if the sqaud and the coaching staff had given up. Not like Charlton had anything on the line either.

Weirdly for me it was a pre season game at Norwich - they hammered us - Mowbray wasn’t able to buy anybody and watching Maddison and Murphy come over to applaud as Norwich players just made me feel utterly depressed. We went back a few weeks later in the league cup and got hammered even worse and I genuinely wondered at that moment what was the point. When we went down To League 2 it was at least on the back of a win at Wembley and the belief for me that we would go straight back up which we did although just !!

was that a league cup game? we lost 6-1 I think from memory. it was horrendous.

We were third in the league, it was a freak result. Northampton the following year felt worse.

But neither of them are even remotely comparable in terms of depths plunged than some of the times over the last couple of decades.

The Sutton result was embarrassing, but the next week we were winning at Norwich to cement ourselves in the top 6. The awful results mentioned in the thread taking us on the fall to League 2 were much worse, as those results were just confirmation of our continued demise into what felt oblivion.
