Wasps downward spiral... (13 Viewers)

What a thing it would be for Cov to go up a few years down the line and beat these imposters on home turf.

Would be better to see Cov go up and at the same time those shits get relegated, then to cap it off the club’s vote to close the trap door and leave them stranded.

Life is tough at the Wasps nest:

'Not open before the game?
The village is the only place I have ever found cider that is not Bulmers'/Strongbow, so it looks like I will be dry today.....'

Just seen some pictures of the crowd and the attendance looked very low, now the wins are hard to find so are the fans best get ready for mountains of free tickets to be distributed

That picture is reminiscent of when they were squatting at Wycombe tbf.

Such progress.

I wonder what percentage of the 'crowd' are actually from Coventry? Nowhere near as high as the local content at Leicester, Northampton etc. I'd think.

The ground is to big for them and will start to need large repairs in the coming years as it was poorly built and the arena part doesn’t make massive money and now the fans are deserting them all looks rosey in the garden.

Get ready for the telegraph to run a hugely successful time at wasps story

The players are going too. Quite a few higher profile members of the squad are leaving at the end of the season. Rats & sinking ships spring to mind!

There’s a Wasps fan on twitter getting touchy as our crowd was bigger than theirs. Was pointed out we’re third tier they are top tier in our respective leagues. The response was that no rugby clubs get crowds that big as the sport isn’t popular enough. Why have you moved to a 32K ground then???

They were having a proper scratch yer eyes out meltdown on one particular thread on Pissed-up Wasps yesterday.
Just went for an update but it (the entire forum) seems to have disappeared.
Hopefully a portent.

They haven't checked Leicester, Bristol then? Both struggling too.

The responses-

Am I missing something wtf how has Cov’s promotion/winning (which helped improve attendances) and the increased attendances been helped by Wasps, are they genuinely patting themselves on the back at Ricoh believing they’ve played a part in Cov’s revival, unbelievable genuinely unbelievable!

I’ve not heard one person say at the BPA “yeah thank god wasps arrived in the city otherwise I wouldn’t come up to support Cov!”

I'm sure that last one is/was also a cov fan but jumped straight on the wasps bandwagon.

I wonder if he realised Rugby in the city existed before wasps turned up.

Toughy and Glory Hunter are CCFC fans apparently, they're in the same orbit as the Nicky Eastwood Way and all associated trolls

I can’t help but feel now wasps have had a poor season, crowds have started to dry up, matchdays aren’t the same, fireworks are only once a season etc that the converted wasps fans have to pretty much got to try and convince themselves & others that they’ve done the ‘right’ thing turning their backs on Coventry teams so if they can claim Cov Rugby’s rise on them it’s a good back slapping/kudos excerise.
Surprised they’re not claiming City’s 2 Wembley visits on wasps arrival as well!

What a tube. I can’t find the article but at the friendly at the butts. The wasps and their fs s were given lots of stick. The chairman of crfc even put out an apologetic message to the wasps fans, they are trolls who haven’t been to the butts

That’s the only game at the BPA I’ve missed this season, but I spoke to those that were their and obviously they weren’t privy to all comments and there probably was ‘banter’ given I do know they witnessed a couple of wasps fans throwing a wobbly when a handful of Cov fans started doing the ‘Easy Easy’ chant as Cov ran in their 50th point!

I have a few times this season at games the odd person in Wasps clothing (why to a Cov Rugby game your not impressing anyone) which is usually met with looks of surprise, silence and the odd shake of the head but no verbal abuse.

I sat two rows back from three W*sps fans at the pre-season game.
They sat there giving it large with their plastic flags for the first part of the game (when their lot were competing/scoring).
Very noticeable how subdued they became after ht when Cov started going to town on them, and eventually they slunk off with maybe 10 mins to go.
Tbf, I witnessed no verbals from Cov fans, and certainly no confrontations of any kind, and I was surprised when Jon Sharp commented on it. I feel he had been rather duped.
Personally I have no issues with their displaced southern fans. It's not their fault.
However, as for the Cov/Brum/etc glory hunters... fuck the twats.

To be fair, don't they all cry about people cheering at the wrong time? Confrontation was probably the opposition daring to score against them and their fans cheer it.

Putting rivalries aside sad to see Wasps and England’s Dan Robson our for the foreseeable future after being found to have blood clots hope he’s back fighting fit soon!

Yep, it doesn't have world wide appeal and never will. Even after England won the world cup there was barely any increase in interest in it

I imagine it’s just a World Cup in name as I can’t imagine eighty percent of the world even having serious teams same with cricket really.
