I don't wish to be uncharitable, but Deborah James.

I wish the MSM would just shut up about her. Over 400 people A DAY die from cancer in the UK. People who have lived good lives. People whose families loved them and miss them more than anything in the world. People who have left legacies to cancer charities in their will and who families donate untold millions to charities as a result of their disease. People whose families and friends are cut to the heart when they hear the meedja luvvies bleating on about ONE woman who just happened to have powerful contacts and had a job which allowed her to raise the profile of bowel cancer when they could not.

She did lots that was good, she has now died, that's sad and i feel sorry for those who knew her and miss her from their lives, but give the sanctification a rest.
It's not so much her than the media then.. I suppose if she can raise more funds for cancer than the likes of you and me that's a good thing but as you say many people leave money to charities and it goes unreported.

So if she did lots of good why would you bother writing a post like this?

The fact that she got into the media and helped spread the word, and particularly the podcast she did, should be celebrated and will have no doubt saved numerous lives.

My Missus’ mate who had cancer at the time said the podcast was an amazing source of help and actually made her look at living rather than just thinking about dying. You can’t quantify how many people she has helped and supported in many different ways.

The fact is she wanted to use herself as an example to help save others when I can imagine it would have been very easy to hide away and not want to face the world.

That should be celebrated and her legacy will live on and continue to save lives and the more people who do it the better IMO.

Employers just plain fucking lying. Agreed to a job of 50 hours of work per week - fine. Turned out to be 60 -hmm…okay. Today my first day and look to be out for 14-16 hours per day because they can’t keep drivers. First and last day I think!

What are you driving?

Just rigid trucks, animal waste. Dirty and very physical work, but I accepted that part. It pays well for it. But 05:30-20:30 days pushing legal hours past what it’s supposed to be is past my limitations. And this is while I’m double manned on training.

I can't begin to imagine how irked you're gonna be when she has a posthumous Christmas Number one.
You AND Simon Cowell for that matter.

George Clarke's flipping fast..... (would also fit in boring politics thread)

....a casino approach by a bunch of reality tv amateur decorators.... all fooled into thinking they are talented property developers by rising market...... and a prick of a TV architect.

Geordie c**t + deluded cunts

Definitely the worst take in all 320 pages of this thread.

Well I got back to the yard at about 10:15pm and quit. I’m a little over 10st but nobody pointed out I’d be trying to shift up to 500kg bins.

Ah just posted that on another thread.

Will be interesting to see what happens.

A certain ex city player also seems to be now a highly paid CEO of a charity too....

I wasn't aware so had quick look,

jeez poor behaviour if true: Ashley Cain Truth Revealed
I don't profess to know either of them, having read the attached though I would comment

If all this is true, then shame on them as parents and human beings

If not then shame on the trolls and witch hunters chasing them

As someone who has children and grand children and thankfully all without any serious issues, I will hold my counsel until something is proved without a shadow of a doubt one way or the other

For information, i have deleted my post about Deborah James as I now recognise that it was clearly insensitive. I just wish my darling sister, who succumbed to breast cancer 13 years ago this week, could have been revered in such a way - she was no less special 😢
That's all.
Top post. So sorry about your sister.

Move to Wales mate! If we’ve been to England, which is quite regular, It’s an ongoing ‘joke’ that it starts to rain as soon we get back over the bridge…it fucking does!
