Yes. That applies to Scott Loach. He has a better pedigree than Stockdale.

I will leave that one for the masses to digest.

He wasn't third choice when he signed his contract. He is entitled to sit on his contract to the last day.
You don't know what has gone on, Birmingham may have made all sorts of offers to get him off their books.
Their number one, Lee Camp is on a much much lower salary apparently.

Makes sense but you would think at this stage in his career 33plus (although not old for a keeper) he woukd be wanting the buzz to play. As hes probably not short of a few bob.

Stockdale to mutually agree to cancelling his contract and signing for us? Surely blues would jump at the chance to get him off the wage bill?

Would he be willing to do that though? Would be a massive coup

That's what Villa did with Joe Cole
Then we did a deal with him that had a large element of the payment based on appearances
As you say, Birmingham would have to agree with Stockdale to mutually cancel his contract so he became a free agent
Not sure if there would be any problem with him appearing for three clubs in the same season in those circumstances which don't appear to apply for emergency GK loans

Could he play for us this season? It would need to be pre season.

I am sure he would get much better offers the moment he was a free agent.

Surely if hes made a free agent, the 3 club rule wouldn't apply???
Could be wrong on that one

Thats only if it's before the window ends and I think it still applies?

What idiot would join us on 2/3 thousand when they are earning ten times plus that?
It was an emergency loan and that's it.

I thought we couldn't;t sign any players outside the transfer window these days?

Only if they were free agents before the window shut.

Ex-Bolton Wanderers and Leeds United goalkeeper excited by Rochdale loan

Was just as impressed by Rochdales loan keeper.
He arguably made much better saves one from baka and Thomas.

Got very good pedigree. At 35 this one is much more doable.

Really think its about time we went to experienced keeper.

It's such a cliche but it's clear that at this level especially experience between the sticks is vital. Time for MR to take note.

We have ignored the goalkeeper position for years.

Have we just not had scouts who can scout keepers or have we just not been arsed?

I think it's a combination of not being arsed, having to prioritise the budget for other positions and keeping faith in Burge or whoever was in between the sticks at the time.

Bit of all sorts I'd say.

Budget - for what were paying Burge, could we get better. Probably not, but I think we need better so we need to prioritise funds for it personally.

Scouting/Coaching - Is Oggy up to task? (Am I opening a can of worms here?) All over the pitch (judging by this summer's signings) we don't have scouts, or at least not very good ones.
Coaching, in the 4 odd seasons Burge has been in the frame, his kicking and cross catching doesn't seem to of improved at all. Is that down to confidence? Coaching? Just not being good enough?

I think O'Brien looked good at first
But seems to lack concentration a bit like Addai

Do you know how the Burge situation is coming along? Last I'd heard is he'd been offered a deal but is mulling it over.

If that's the case and I was Robins I'd put a timeline on the deal and start scouting experience.

I'm probably his biggest critic, yet I'll happily admit when first saw O'Brien in action I genuinely believed we'd uncovered an abolsute gem. He commanded his box excellently, his communication with his backline was clear, his positioning was superb....then he revealed what a truly shit goalkeeper he really is.

Not sure any of the players nearing the end of their contract have had their offer yet but talks may have started

Not in my opinion
Apparently in the Man City documentary you can see their players slipping it under their top lip at half time in at least one scene. It's rife in football and I would expect craving for it buggers up concentration levels

It's a tobaco based product that comes in packages that look a bit like tea bags
Not illegal to take or performance enhancing but definitely not good for people taking it.
Produced in Sweden but not licenced for sale in the UK

Do we know what Burge's injury is, seen it was a shoulder, lets hope it keeps him out for another week so we have a decent keeper against those fuckers from Warsaw

It is his shoulder
Not long term but will need Stockdale a while longer I suspect
