Simms celebration

Newcastle complaining the referee should have disallowed the GOAL and give a free kick. 🤣🤣🤣

Were you pleased to see Cherif do well? Or pinnock? Or mfuni? Considering you shat on our recruitment so much. That's why your bringing Simms up to Grendel right?

He spent most of the weekend tossing off about how well Ipswich and Hull were doing

Look at my comments regarding those 3 signings you melon. I said Pinnock and Cherif were good signings.

The teams that are sat in 8th and 10th, yeah they're doing alright. Glad to see I was right again Kevin

Why when you get challenged on anything to you mention my actual name?

Have Hull and Ipswich had good starts to the season?

I don’t know given who they’ve played and I don’t care. I certainly wouldn’t be crowing about some expertise in being proven right in your head and laughing about it the day before we played.

It’s boring. The routine is boring, go to an actual football match and get a real view of it than behind a screen.

Watching on tv vs a man in the flesh makes no different in the perception of the game.

You dont know as you have very limited knowledge of football

No chance he goes on a free, if we make him available in January half the championship would be after him.
He doesn't have to sign a contact and can actually sign a pre contract in January, meaning he has more power than we do in this situation and could feesibly leave for free.

I would still like him to stay as I think he is a good player and one season apart, has been a very good player for us

I'd be disappointed if he goes for free, I'd have speculated he could have worked out cost neutral over the duration.

Never seen him so animated in the post-match interview. Good on him - think he’ll get some important goals this season off the bench
He’ll be gone in January you would think if he doesn’t sign a new contract and I don’t think he will

We will sign better

It’s more or less certain he’ll leave on a free next summer.

I disagree, he’ll be 4th/5th choice striker if everyone is fit. Half the championship will be after a striker in January and he’s one of the few that will probably be available.

If he does go value at least 8M based on his scoring - i can see him randomly going to swansea

I doubt we will get that sort of fee given he will only have a few months on his contract. He could run it down anyway and decide to go in the summer.

And the rest! He cost £8,5m!

Agreed. They signed Adam Idah for 6, Simms is a far better player in my opinion.

Edit - just seen Grendels comment about him being out of contract, hadn't factored that in

Yeah that’s true. Six months left does change things a bit.

Hopefully a few teams chasing him would drive up the price. Look at the clamour for Joel Piroe on here last January, can see the likes of Wolves, Burnley, Wrexham being interested.

I think he will sign a new deal. Gives us a chance to move him on in the summer if we stay up, or keep him if we go back down. He's still young for a striker. I did love his energy for the celebration and his interview, maybe he's finally starting to believe in himself more.

Wrexham are very interested and I suspect have been in contact with his agent. They or maybe Wolves would pay £5m in January if they are well placed for playoffs by then, as next summer plenty of Championship teams would be after him and would be harder to tie down.

Did we offer him a contract, has that been confirmed? Simms has not been treated well since Frank came in to be fair, so why would he? He was scoring goals in Frank's first season when we climbed the table to make the play offs, and then lost his place. He wasn't even brought on in that 2nd leg Play Off Semi Final at Sunderland when Haji was having a mare. Last season he regularly scored or contributed to goals coming off the bench, and scored plenty starting games too (Charlton, Middlesborugh, Watford) and his fine performance at Portsmouth, but was benched when Haji returned. Scored in consective pre season games this season, and did alright at Arsenal in the first game, and hasn't started since. Interesting that rumours flying around that Burnely came in for him at the end of the window and he turned down the move. He wasn't even on the bench for the next game. Frank doesn't fancy him clearly, and I bet they wanted him to move on during the window, and possibly were banking on that. The fact Frank started a 19 year old on Monday night suggests he is 4th choice.

How has he not been treated well :ROFLMAO: He's been absolutely fine, he's played loads, you make him sound like a beaten dog! Lampard has usually preferred to start the bloke who was our top scorer 3 seasons running, what a shock! How he used the players at his disposal was also vindicated by us absolutely pissing the league.

I don't think he will to be honest. There's no gaurantee on Wrights fitness and an injury/suspension to Awoniyi or Cherif means we'd be struggling.

I reckon he'll get a new contract.

the 19 year old showed pace, strength and movement - the 25 year old hasn’t showed any of that since he’s been here.
