Surely one single thread for Wasps is better than a whole, barely touched sub-forum.

It'll keep Italia and his car park happy, and The Gren can still chokeslam Tony in it from time to time.

I can see the attraction of keeping it I suppose. When we were kids there was a wasps nest that we'd go to every year and just kick it or poke it with a stick for a dare. It kept us amused for many a summer afternoon in the school holidays.

I pretend that Wasps don't exist - remove the pages devoted to them and I can continue to keep up the pretence.

"If I ignore them enough, then hopefully they will go away" approach

I vote to keep it where it is, I assume the threads in there are rarely about rugby and are the more the usual tiresome tickle fights.

I would keep it where it is. I certainly wouldn't want to see the same level of bickering, from the few on that section, on the main forum. Whilst never losing my interest in CCFC I might lose some interest in SBT if that were to happen.

Where it is I can largely ignore the pathetic comments/arguments and Wasps

questions Nick
Can you maintain that section but make it just one thread, ie prevent anyone from starting a new Wasps related thread?
What's going to happen when the usual suspects from both sides of the Wasps argument divert legitimate CCFC threads on the main forum? Who decides if they are? what action will be taken? It isn't just the so called "Wasps PR squad" that stir that particular pot as far as I can see

Just my tuppence

Yep I can certainly lock it down!

I just don't want that to mean things spill into here.

It's looking like it may stay as somewhere to move stuff out to to keep the ccfc section free of it

Why not close the sub forum and have a single Wasps thread in the other sports section and then dump any new wasps threads regardless of where they are started into it. If someone tries diverting a thread onto wasps (check post #6 on the "An evening with TM" thread for a perfect example. Fuck all to do with the thread, just another attempt to change a thread into another Wasps argument) regardless of where that thread is either delete that post and any direct replies or dump them in the single Wasps thread. Simples.

To be honest if it was a single thread in the other sports section I probably wouldn't bother with it, especially if the other threads in other forum sections get cleaned up from wasps diversion chatter.

The only reason I started going on there was because I got pissed of with certain posters constantly turning what seemed like every thread into a wasps argument/discussion usually following a certain pattern(i.e. someone criticises SISU). So I started going on the Wasps sub forum to give them a taste of their own medicine and turn every thread into a SISU discussion. Although I will admit that although I do still largely go on the Wasps sub forum with this intention it's too easy sometimes to just wind some of the regular contributors up.

Good job we aren't talking about adding one of these ;)

Well, no. I think it's an issue that the evening with TM is not at the Ricoh and illustrates the problem. That's a CCFC issue - the thread with 1,800 posts is a CCFC thread.

It's just a way the likes of you and Italia can bury negative news from your friends

I agree it's a CCFC issue but as usual when you say "shows more than anything we can't share with wasps for long" you're wrong. There's nothing absolutely nothing stopping the club booking facilities at the Ricoh so the real problem seems to be that we won't share with the Wasps other than match days. Your post completely ignores this and talks about Wasps. The thread wasn't even about the venue but you made sure it was and made sure wasps were on the agenda.

I imagine the only thing stopping booking the event at the Ricoh is the high cost of hiring the venue and nothing to do with the club not wanting to use the Ricoh away from match days. That's just an assumption you've made.

I'd also imagine that it's a bigger venue than the BPA and therefore more tickets could be available. It also might be more attractive (given there's a hotel, casino etc. on site) for corporate so a better chance of selling out. Aside from the fact it's more logical to have something like this at your home ground.

The venue hire and cost per head would have been higher meaning tickets would have been higher which means it would have been less affordable so less people may have attended so more of a chance it wouldn't have sold out.

As we don't have the costing we'll never know, but carry on with your assumption that it's because the football don't want to use the Ricoh on non match days.

At least when OSB commented on it he put all of the likely scenarios not just the narrative of "sisu bad"

Oi Nick - last few posts show why we need a separate forum.

When even the sodding thread debating whether to keep it descends into sodding Wasps Talk...:slap:

Sorry. :(

So my figures are assumptions because as you say we don't have the costing's but you claim that the venue hire and costs per head would be higher. Sounds like two of us are carrying on with assumptions not one.

Back on topic.

I am thinking to keep it, but rename it to something clear like "The Wasps Bickering Place" or something. Then there is no confusion that it is here for Wasps fans to sign up.

For someone who claims he'd never post about Wasps if that board wasn't there, you seem to be doing a mighty fine job of trying to start a fight in an empty house...

How is that post about Wasps? Or any of the other posts that have been the discussion with Stu for that matter?

Aside from the fact that isn't what I actually claimed in the first place.

No Nick, that’s too inflammatory. You need something neutral like “Anti-Franchise Heros vs Council Fanboy Hypocrites” ;)

Again this post makes huge assumptions that desperately try and show ACL (nothing to do with wasps RFC) in a positive light.

Did you mean to quote and different post? Or are you just letting your imagination run riot while "reading between the lines".

Stopping something means a vested interest in suppression.

The forum will decide your motivation - not you.

Also worth pointing out how poorly accessed the Ricoh really is, better it's at the Butts home of a Coventry team not some franchise.

I was going to say that I was happy to ditch the sub forum until I thought about it. If we get rid of it where are we going to put the threads started about Wasps. I'm all for moving it (maybe to London ;)) and putting it somewhere out of the way where it's harder to find.
