There are many people who watch both Cov and Wasps but have stopped going to watch City, perhaps you should stop your snide and childish remarks and instesd just think about why that is the case.

Well the product itself at Sixfields wouldn't have been the issue would it? The first half of the season was some of the best football we've played in the last 8 years.

Or maybe just observing the glaring hypocrisy in not going to watch CCFC in Northampton, but happily popping along to see London Wasps in Cov.

Rubbish and you know it I didn't go to Northampton because it was my football club end of, as I've made it plain now I couldn't give a shit about any other club. The real hypocracy is the number of people last season that said they didn't give a shit about Cov now bleating, wankers.

Or the equally glaring hypocrisy in those who went to Sixfields to 'support the lads' and who got all touchy about bring questioned about the morality of their actions, now feeling qualified to sit as judge and jury over others, eh?

You mean when some fans called those that went into Sixfields scum, but didn't think twice about jumping on the Wasps bandwagon?

When it comes to morals... I think a few too many people left them on the hill at Sixfields.

The hypocrisy cuts both ways. It's disingenuous to pretend it's a one way street. It's not. But here we are again, another thread which started off addressing some serious points hijacked by the self-appointed, self-annointed uber-fans

Do you support Steve brown in the fact he attends wasps matches?

Do you agree with Steve brown wasps are not a franchise?

I don't want a load of claptrap and swearing just yes or no to both questions please.

Will the same people be championing the new FixRugby petition aimed at eliminating the hedge funds in professional rugby that are only in it for the money?

Seeing as it cuts both ways.....

Depends if it is the same people who were giving out shit to people who went to sixfields at the wasps games or not?

Oh yes balls just put into space that a lightening fast forward got onto another striker who scored and amidfielder who chipped in a few goals what about all the goals we let in,it wasn't great football it was lucky football.

I didn't agree with going to Sixfields. To me it was endorsing the actions of SISU, basically saying it was OK to play 35 miles from Coventry. However everyone had to make their own choice and if people wanted to go to 'support the lads' then that was their choice.

I certainly don't agree with going to see Wasps and to be honest I don't think highly of anyone who is a Coventry fan, and went through what we went though - irrespective of if they went to Sixfields or not, and goes to see Wasps. Is it hypocrisy when its those who went to Sixfields criticising? Actually I don't think it is. Nobody from Coventry is going to watch Wasps because they've supported them for years and just want to 'support the lads', they are giving their support and endorsement to moving clubs across the country.

But, again, but I'm not going to be dragged down this cul de sac again, but they are no better nor worse than those who complained so much about the 'shit' being dished out to Sixfields attendees now dishing out 'shit' to others. It's exactly the same. Hence my point

I wouldn't say ending the unbeaten streak of Leyton Orient was lucky football... or beating Peterborough on Boxing Day. It was good... with it's faults agreed but you couldn't argue that it wasn't the most entertaining period we have had for a few years.

So first it was about morals... but the same morals don't apply for going to watch Wasps.
Now it's about the product.. which isn't great, but when it was good no-one went because of the morals.
Then there's SISU and NOPM - which didn't appear to apply when we came back to the Ricoh or when we played Arsenal away.

No wonder we can't keep up.

Spot on and exactly what I thought when I read Ian's post. Forget the bullshit reasons/excuses that get pedalled out about supporting the lads at Sixfields yet saying what Wasps have done is wrong. Moving a sports team away from it's home whether temporary or permanent is either wrong or it isn't and judging by the endless shite we have to endure about Wasps moving all the way here, there is quite a few who do think it's wrong, despite some taking their seats at Sixfields.

That's garbage.

Brighton and Bristol rovers temporarily moving was never wrong. Please articulate why you think these temporary relocations were wrong.

Morals? If Wasps had moved to Birmigham would we have had this outrage? There would hve been a thread with about 10 posts if that. Did we have all this outrage when Londo Irish and Welsh moved no we didn't. Wasps didn't move to the Ricoh to force Wycombe to hand over their ground did they so where is the comparison?

As for the rest of your post I go regardless of how great or bad the product is,can't speak for other people.

Fucking bullshit and if you lived in Coventry and talked to some of them you might actually know the reasons why they go. As I have said on here before, I know people who go and enjoy the day and some are Cov fans and some aren't. Do I think any less of either ones, No. The reason being that in the same way I never criticised anyone for going to Sixfields, I won't for the same reason some go to Wasps and that is, it is peoples choice and to come out with sly digs like "I don't think highly of Cov fans who go" is crap.

CCFC's move was not permanent - Wasps is.

Not attending CCFC's games at Sixfields because moving a football club is morally wrong, but then attending Wasps games is where the hypocrisy lies.

Yes, because those who went to Sixfields were supporting the team they have supported all their lives, for decades in some cases. Those going to watch Wasps are not, they are supporting a team who have been parachuted in. Many in the Trust are the biggest hypocrites. Won't go to Sixfields as they don't agree with teams moving across the country, but quite happy to go and support a team they have no affiliation with and who have no affiliation with the area they have permanently moved to.

And that is why as a trust you are just a few blokes going down the pub and are totally irrelevant to the football club.

Doesn't matter anymore does it? Steve went to one Wasps game hes been to a few Cov games,oh by the way these are rugby games you know the sport you've got no interest in unless it serves your agenda.

At the time of going to Sixfields, the people didn't know that the move away from Coventry wasn't permanent, did they? The move wasn't evidently going to be the Cobblers ground; but nobody knew where it would lead to. The temporary versus permanent argument doesn't stack up, because people didn't know.

People went to Sixfields because they wanted to. Don't dress it up. People go to Wasps because they want to. No difference. And no party has the right to criticise the other

To be honest if someone wants to go to Wasps to watch then good for them, wouldn't do it myself. I only have an issue with people like those from the Trust and Italia who moaned about morals with people going to Sixfields yet support Wasps. As I said at least those going to Sixfields were supporting their OWN club. And, I have no issue with those who boycotted Sixfields. We're all fans of CCFC after all. Not Wasps. That's the point.

There is every difference.

So if Man Utd were relocated to the Ricoh and ccfc were still at Highfield Road you'd have no problem with the impact on the local club?

They've really bought your morals haven't they? Hang your head in shame.

Why would I need to? I never said it was wrong, did I? If you re-read my post I said it was either wrong or it wasn't. Now with regard to the two you mention, I don't know enough to comment but I am sure if I read up on them then I would be able to have an opinion on them. I am in a position to comment on Cov and Wasps and to me both moves were/are wrong.

Yes we are all fans of CCFC,and those on the Trust and Italia are CCFC fans they go to every game including homand away JPT games. What I want to know is who dredged all this up again and more importantly why?

You have no right to judge me. Nothing I have said herein is supportive of Wasps in any way. You know nothing of CRFC, do you? Yet suddenly you're the bastion of the blue and whites.

Tell you what, meet me at The Butts on any given match day - you can choose it. See what reception you get; and compare and contrast, eh?

Permanent or not, CCFC's move was wrong in the same way Wasps move was wrong in my humble opinion but I won't judge people who did either. I won't call them scabs, hypocrites, lacking in moral fibre or want to burn them at the stake. But as MMM say's, is going to watch CCFC at Sixfields much different to watching Wasps at the Ricoh?

Is it possible that some people (yes, there really are some that are different to you) can go and watch Wasps and then become a supporter? Does it matter to them if they have been parachuted in, if going to watch them gives them enjoyment? You see, to me a supporter can support other teams from other sports and just because some are from Cov, does not mean that they have to support Cov rugby, does it?

You say many in the trust are hypocrites, how many? you see some on here say they go but how many people do you actually know in the trust that go and 'support' Wasps compared to how many people are in the trust?

The Gentleman

So if going to watch Wasps isn't supporting them and saying it was OK for them to move 85 miles what is it? Its hardly a protest against them moving is it?

Here's something for you Dave, they don't support them, they don't give a shit whether they have moved 85 miles and they don't want a protest against them. They just want a good day out and at present, going to watch Wasps gives them that. Are they hypocrites, no. Do you think they should protest and if so, what do you suggest?
